Do you play an instrument Ta'veren Kaladin? *Evil laugh* I play *quickly counts* 3, plus I used to play Viola (thus my question) and I sing. I also like to mess around with other instruments and could easily learn to actually play them.

That1Cellist he/him
Well, either way, who here takes private lessons? Edited August 25, 2022 by That1Cellist
Shining Silhouette he/him
I take a couple different private lessons, but I stopped taking cello last year to focus on my other music.
The Wandering Wizard he/him
I don't take private lessons. Does anyone else dislike three octave scales, on a stringed instrument?

Cool, I take private lessons for cello. I guess everyone probably assumed that, but still. Three octave scales are fun if you know thumb position Edited August 25, 2022 by That1Cellist

I've been practicing it for a while, but yeah it can be rough sometimes. It also really hurts at first.

The Wandering Wizard he/him
I have found it! @Shining Silhouette and @That1Cellist. Do you guys have good cello music this semester? Edited September 11, 2022 by The Wandering Wizard
Shining Silhouette he/him
Yes we do! We're playing classical music this semester for our concert, then we'll do the jazz/american music the next. It's going to be fun! I'm also playing the Borodin Quartet with a couple friends. What about you guys?

Beauty and the Beast, Romeo and Juliet, the overture to the messiah, and entrance and march of the guests from Taunnhauser. All have surprisingly good cello music and are really fun to play.
That1Cellist he/him
My music is okay. It's basically the same as usual, but it's a bit more interesting at least. I'm in two different orchestras, so that helps. My solo stuff is, of course, the most interesting. I feel like I've improved a lot over the last month.
