"What do you want?" TAAron asked in as strong a voice as he could muster.

"Well, there is an invisible trident that nearly killed me. And is sentient, apparently."

“I was not aware.” She sighed. “I miss the smoke.”

The Finn spoke, this one obviously less accustomed to speaking English than the other. "Your group... you are different from others who have come to us." It glanced at Nameless, eyes cold. "Except this one. It is his fault you are here, I think."

"You are not of this world... not of the Pattern." It hesitated, glancing back at the grouped Finn. "We are in... disagreement, on that last part. Still, your existence here is dangerous."

"To you, to us, perhaps even to the Pattern itself." The Eelfinn narrowed its foxlike eyes at TAAron. "The longer your threads continue to be woven here, the greater the tangle to the Age Lace."

"No promises. Tours are very exciting. Let's go!"

He wrenched himself out of Nameless' grip and marched over to the strange group again.

Nameless grabbed TAAron with weaves of air, picking him up off the ground and pulling him back to the group.

"Stay with the rest of us, and I'll let you go. Killing all of us would stop any damage to the Pattern just as well as leaving."

Wynn turned to Nameless.

"We still have his metals, right?" She whispered.

Oh. Malum actually wasn't lying when he said he can't attack them. It would go too far against TAAron to do so. And he can't use TAAron's metals, either.
