Tamriel Wolfsbaine
Does anyone know if there are WoB or any references to how big some of the animals on roshar are? Mostly interested in size and weights of whitespines and the bigger axehounds. Also how heavy do you think sky eels are? How fast are great shells and what is their weight and dimensions?
alder24
Balat's axehound weighs as much as he does, but she is not the biggest (still big), as the biggest axehounds come up to a man's waist. Whitespines are as large as horses. Chasmfiends - at least twenty feet wide, six times the height of an adult man at their peak, and over twice as long. But they are forming bond with mandras, that reduces their weight. Spoiler LordXenu069 How tall would the average chasmfiend be, and how much would they weigh? On a scale from ant to Godzilla. Brandon Sanderson So, they're big. Not godzilla big, but larger than elephant big. On average, they're going to loom over you at about twenty feet high, which is deceptive to their size, as they're longer than tall. And some do get even bigger. Weight, though, is a tricky matter with greatshells on Roshar. The symbiosis with spren is how they get around crushing themselves. (Even on a lower gravity planet like Roshar.) LordXenu069 One last question though, symbiosis is a two way relationship. The chasmfiends get a huge benefit, the ability to not immediately die. So what do the spren get out of it? Brandon Sanderson Yes, the symbiosis is a two-way relationship. You'll find out more in future books, but suffice it to say, the spren DO get something out of the deal. (At least, when it happens naturally.) General Reddit 2016 (Oct. 18, 2016) Skyeels also has this bond, as they should be heavier. And you have also chulls and island greatshells. No numbers for weight, so best you can do is approximate from their size. That's all I've got from Coppermind and WoBs. Roshar is high-oxygen, lower-gravity world, so animals can grow bigger but not necessarily much heavier.
Frustration he/him
Whitespines have an art page, you can find it in the coppermind's WoR interior art. But basically their backs are close to 7 feet tall.

But basically their backs are close to 7 feet tall. Does that put it taller than Kaladin or less so? 7 feet by our standards or Roshars? I assume they weigh far more than a person on Roshar and thus would be pushing even more than a normal sized human from Scadrial? 1 hour ago, alder24 said: Balat's axehound weighs as much as he does, but she is not the biggest (still big), as the biggest axehounds come up to a man's waist. So a larger axehound could come in at couple hundred pounds likely in Roshar weight standards.

Is Shaq closer to Kaladin or Rock in stature? I picture Kal as more of a Kobe sized guy vs Rock as a Shaq.

Kaladin is roughly 7 feet tall for us, Rock is less clear but probably 7'6-7'10 Edited December 20, 2022 by Ookla the Frustrated.
