Just that there are worse places than here. And that there's a story with the nickname.

The bubble had gotten pretty crowded, but pic wasn’t willing to let it drop until they were safely on the hovercraft.

“If you wanted a hug, all you had to do was ask,” Pic said with a slight smirk. Fear was still evident on his face.

"Can I have a hug?" Elan says, but not towards Pic. Towards Aventine.

Who was this directed at?

Interesting. I mean... there are definitely worse places. Standardized tests, for instance.

I haven't done of of those before... are they really that bad?

YES.

Speaking of standardized tests... gotta go take AP Chem test.

Elan hugs her tightly, then leans back against the bubble and stares out the side of it.

Pic may not be the most aware, but he's gonna catch on eventually. That's gonna be a fun inner conflict.

(As of now unnamed): The Shed (Insa)

Insa nearly fell but caught herself on a counter.

I wasn't ready yet.

 I was though!!

That's not how this works though. You need to wait until I'm ready.

Insa looked around the shed. A flood of memories filled her head but Insa pushed them away. Most weren't the happiest.

You remember this place right?

Of course. How could I forget?

Gray clouds filled the shed.

Let's just make sure you remember all the important parts.

Images filtered through the clouds.

***

5 year old Insa sat eagerly on a small chair in the corner. She watched wide eyed as her father worked at the small forge he had managed to fit in the shed.

After a little while he looked up and motioned for her to come over.

She hopped out of her chair and rushed over.

"What did you make today?"

He handed her dime sized pieces of metal. Each had a similar but clearly different pattern engraved on it.

"One is for you and one is for your mother."

"Oh."

Insa traced the patterns with her small fingers.

"I want to be like you. I want to make pretty things too someday."

Her dad laughed. "When you're older I'll teach you."

He gave her a quick hug.

"Why don't you go show your mom?"

"Okay!"

Insa ran off.

Palli: The Shed (Insa)

Years seemed to pass by in a few moments.

Now the image was of a slightly older Insa. About 8.

Her dad stood by the door talking to a man in a green outfit which Insa found rather silly. She crouched behind the counter and tried to contain her giggles as she listened in on their conversation.

"There must be something we can do!" The man's voice was loud and angry.

"Anything we could do now would be incredibly dangerous for our families." Her dad's voice was calm and cool like it always was. He was rarely angry.

"What about your little girl? Can't she do crazy things? We could train her! Soon she would be a hero! People would love that!" Insa stopped giggling and pulled farther back behind the counter. This wasn't the first person to talk to her dad recently about her little lights. She had accidentally zapped one of her friends with one a while ago and since then it seemed to be all people wanted to talk about.

"No."

"But Tadh-"

"I said no. My daughter will not be a weapon. And she will not use her abilities unless absolutely necessary." His voice had become very loud and angry. He paused before taking a deep breath. "I'm sure I can find another option for you, I just need time."

The door shut very loudly.

Insa stayed put out of fear.

Her dad walked over and then crouched in front of her.

"Insa. Were you eavesdropping again?"

Insa scooted as far away as possible and nodded.

"You need to stop doing that okay?"

She nodded again.

They sat in silence for a few moments.

"Dad?"

"Yes?"

"Why do people keep asking you about me?'

He sighed. "Come here."

Insa crawled into his lap. Her dad wrapped his arms around her.

"They're desperate Insa. They want a solution to their problems and their looking in all the wrong places."

"Are they gonna keep talking to you about me?"

He looked thoughtful for a moment. "Probably. But as long as you are with your mother, your brother, your sister, and I, you'll be safe. It'll be okay."

Clinic: Ash's Office (Ash)

"Hm."

Ash looked down at Jinx. "What do you say we go to the library and see if we can find information to help."

She glanced back up at the lights. "I'm sorry if this is rude, but what or who are you? I don't think you ever told us. And its important for my records and in order to provide you with the proper help."

Turing seemed to now be looking at the two of them silently, though he didn't have any distinct eyes.

"Am I dead?"

“Sure.” Elan says, smiling. He’s let go of Aventine, but leaves one hand around her waist, holding her gently.

Gosh dang it Elan youve forced Pic's hand

Pic looks down at Elan's hand, tilts his head, and stops humming every fourth beat. A hole appears beneath Elan and causes him to tumble into the hovercraft. Once he is out, Pic continues the normal song routine, sealing the break in the sphere.
