There are three basilisks attacking the camp area right now. We ran out of things to do so decided to have a low-risk monster encounter :P

Fair enough. Who is controlling the snakes?

The basilisks reared back for a moment, feeling the dread flood them. Then they continued with renewed vigor. A spear struck next to one’s head, and that one started rushing towards Roy. One of them moved towards Edgar and Jenny, while a third neared Terrance. As soon as the plants touched them, the plants shriveled and died.

Edgar raised gift, which, interestingly, had become something akin to a shovel. He stepped in front of Jenny. He could deal with a couple snakes, he had taken a few out in his time.

roy creates some madness in the snakes distorientating them slightly making it so that it is less likely for the snakes to hit him. he picks up his spear and starts releasing shocks of lightning from his spear by stabbing it randomly towards the ground.

As he reaches down to grab it, a snake launches itself out of the grass at him.

Terrance pushed terror into the one attacking him in particular trying to make it hesitate once more.

Seeing the basilisks rushing towards them, Jenny realized that they could easily cause her to plummet back to the ground by simply touching the plants holding her aloft. She began to panic slightly. Hopefully she’d be able to land somewhere other than on top of the highly venomous snakes.

Ed seemed to know what he was doing, though. Perhaps he could kill the snakes before they got to Jenny. She took aim with her dagger at the area in front of Edgar. Her plan was to chuck a dagger at anything that leapt up at him from the grass.

Harold follows, surprised at the pace. Not as fast as he could, but still a good run.

After they had run five miles they started to hear the sounds of a city “hey we’re close to something at least”  rob said.

Edgar raised his sharpened shovel, pointing it towards where he could see just the barest hint of scales. He stabbed down at it, but it slithered back just in time.

Taking advantage of the moment, Terrance drew out a weapon from his cloak: a long, very thin rod of celestial bronze, with an impossibly sharp point. He stabbed it down into the basilisk as precisely as he could.

The basilisk dissolved, leaving behind only a fang.

He very carefully picked up the fang and placed it into a pouch on his person before turning to survey the other fighting that was happening.

Jenny noticed that Terrance seemed to have killed a basilisk and grinned. She called out to him from atop her plants.

”Great job Terrance!”

He was a formidable fighter. Hopefully he’d fight on their side, not just in self-defense. Terrance killing a monster proved that he wasn’t aligned with them, at least.

Does she have any monsters attacking her?

Terrance approached the one by Edgar, once again casting terror upon it. However, before he could kill it, his hands once again began to shake, and he watched helplessly as his weapon dropped from a failing grip.

“Great job Ed!”

Jenny had seen the line quit moving and a hint of something dissolving, so she assumed that Ed had killed the basilisk. Her grin widened. He had needed a win.

She wasn’t sure what was wrong with Terrance. Had he been bit?

”Do you need some ambrosia, Terrance?”

Jenny pulled out a square and prepared to chuck it in his direction, just in case.

There’s just one left that’s fighting Roy, right? Also, sorry you’ve been feeling sick Clarinetist!

Terrance warily picked up his weapon before backing away from the group, still seeming very distrustful.

Terrance shook his head.

@Lunamor

Was he just not hurt or still scared to accept anything from Jenny? She tucked the square away, hoping it was the former. Why was he still backing away at this point? They would’ve killed him already if they wanted to. Terrance’s behavior was just so odd.

Are there any more basilisks?

Lucid sighs, still making sure to be out of the lightning spear thingy's area of attack before just pulling an arrow out and begins to try to shoot the other dang basilisk.
