It started to grow.

Her hand began to hurt, but she couldn't release now.

This would be key.

Perhaps the answer between life and death.

If she would kill, she would start quietly.

And if she would manipulate, she needed power.

Power like this poison.

Power like the antidote.

His eyes soften. "Would you like a cookie? would that help?" he doesn't say it in a condescending tone, its kind. "Did you name your stuffed animal? I know I did that as a kid..."

"I did... I do..." Eike said. "It's... Hedgehogy. I know, not creative. But... I dunno."

She felt the black ink crawl up her wrist, and finally pulled her hand away with a wince.

It had grown enough now.

She took out her dagger and sliced the belladonna, letting it fall into her pouch.

Then she sliced the chlorophytum comosum, the plant which allowed for the "deadly nightshade" to grow near it's roots.

What an irony of nature.

The atropa belladonna had only one antidote: physostigmine and pilocarpine.

How coincidental it was that this could only be found in the chlorophytum comosum.

Nature was beautiful in that way.

And deadly.

The poison could only grow at the root of the antidote.

Together, forever.

The demon, wishing harm.

And the angel, healing the victim.

How beautiful.

Jane closed her pouch and swung it over her shoulder, walking back down the staircase.

She reached the door, and was going to open it when she glanced down, seeing her wrist and fingers covered in the poison of the deadly nightshade. Storms.

She cracked open one leaf of the chlorophytum comosum and covered her wrist with the antidote, wrapping it quickly in the cloth around the hem of her cardigan, which had become very small and ripped at this point.

Then she tucked away the rest of the leaf among the rest of the chlorophytum comosum and atropa belladonna.

She opened the door back to the entrance room.

@Edema Rue

It was exactly as she'd left it. Downstairs, the old woman was snoring softly.

Alright.

Let's screw this world over.

She opened the front door, dagger in hand, to the forest.

There’s a thin plume of smoke coming through the trees.

Jane froze.

A human.

She clutched her hand into a fist.

Or a wildfire.

Quiet or chaos?
War or peace?
Blood or wine?

Battle or death?

Where was the olive branch when she needed it most?
Or perhaps was this a sign of her own desperation?

Jane rummaged through her pack and threw her cardigan over her head like a cloak, darkening her eyes under the shadow of the cloth yet still enabling her to see her surroundings.

There are no words for the sickness of the mind.

I can never escape my own.

Obsession.

Jealousy.

Anger.

Pain.

Burning and crying and stabbing my mind to let those voices leave.

Let me leave through my tears and the flame.

Jane walked towards the smoke, carefully pushing away branches and twigs in the dark of the forest. She had to reach whoever awaited her there. (She's walking towards the fire that @justice magician made right?)

Spinning I can never tell if you're killing me or is this world or is it me, and has it always been.

Glass crashing bleeding screaming tears and blood on the ground where I walk ever so peacefully.

Guiltlessly.

How can you be so innocent as I stand here trembling.

A psychopathic painful twisted and ill person breaking this world and still I need you always.

You made me like this.

Not me.

You.

And I still can never claw my way out of my mind.

Never.

I'm gonna take the liberty of hearing her if she's that close

Sharpo snapped awake from the half-asleep state he'd been in. "Kaza, wake up," He said, shaking his shoulders, "Did you hear that."

Jane reached the clearance, her eyes widening underneath her cloak.

"Hello."

Sharpo pulled out his pocket knife and immediately crouched protectively in front of Kaza. He didn't say anything, instead he waited to see what she would do.

after thinking about it, Delind decides that she agrees with the newcomer. She and Adonis were strong enough to overpower a single tribute, but a two on two fight was more risky.

"well, if we aren't going to fight, then we can either work together or go our seperate ways in peace." She says.

"Hi-" Jane looked at the two of them, crouched before her.

"I... I didn't mean to interrupt your sleep."

She glanced around again, eyes falling on Sharpo's pocket knife.

"What district are you two from?"

Aaron sighed in relief. He had thought he was going to die. But not now, it appeared. Later.

”I know I’m new, but I think we should stick together.”

"I have medical supplies." She offered, still keeping her hand defensively on the hilt of her dagger by her belt.
