Oh, crap, ok, ignore everything about the lasso then, here’s what I do

Connor, having somehow hallucinated a lasso on the box, spun around and plunged his other hand into the water, grabbing the vine-thing again, before wrenching upwards and trying to get it out of the water

The Gambler grumbled. This was not his day. He cautiously slid over a three chips embossed with a silver bag of sand. As soon as they reached him, they transformed into real bags of sand. "There ya go." He said. "Wanna play again?"

“No I think that i am good.”

The Gambler nods. "The Change. Send The Change." Then he looks over at [roy's character]. "Get out. Or I kill you." He said angrily.

@RoyalBeeMage

Roy was about to complain but then he changed his mind and ran towards the door

"I FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS BAD ABOUT THESE DONT TOUCH THEM"

Roy stretches out his hands to try and collect some spores

The casino is steep and sheer, impossible to climb. The spores die, however, when they touch its silvery sides.

Roy notices this and stays directly next to the casino.

A man with blacker than black hair stands behind the counter. “Welcome,” he says, “to The Casino. I’ve been waiting for you.”

2 hours ago, The Stormfather said:

Astra grins, shoulders slinking back into her fake money demeanor, and gazed about with her usual air of perfumes, spices, and cloths of the underground. A Casino. Her mind made calculation after calculation.

This should be fun, smiled Rivia.

Astra slid in her odd way forward to the man, placing both hands down on the counter and leaning in. Her breath smelled of smoke or alcohol, though there were neither cigarettes nor liquor nearby. She smiled crookedly at him.

"Pleased to meet you," she raised her eyebrow in jest, "I didn't catch your name?"

Her voice was just over a whisper. This had been the freedom she had been searching for in the cage. The hunger games were dangerous; they were impossible. But a casino? A casino had choice. Risk. Self-autonomy. Freedom. Blame it on chance. Blame it on cheating. But you cannot blame it on force. No one forces you to make bad decisions.

We just love putting the blame on others.

On a bad roll of the dice.

On chance.

It's easier that way.

“Mm…” He nods. “It’ll do.” He reaches below the counter and grabs a short sword and a dagger. Both gleam with inlaid silver. A light turns on a subtle earpiece he’s wearing. He blinks, then nods. “Leave,” he says, sounding bored, “or die.”

Gavin choked. “W-w-what? Y-y-y-you d-didn’t t-t-tell m-me a-a-about th-this!”

Dougella, HG Arena, Casino

Dougella stares at the man for a second. Not a reaction. Scudding machine most likely. Before scooping up the shortsword and a dagger, and running out into the arena once more. "Astra, and other kid, you there?" She waits to hear a response

@Lotus Blossom @The Stormfather

She looks around at the same time, noticing the changed arena, causing her to stop. What in Ruin happened here. She smiles all the same, Oh well, she shrugs skipping around, waiting.

It resists at first, then abruptly slips back into the water until Connor can’t feel it any longer.

Kresh gets the spores and looks for some way to contain them. @Edema Rue

He sees a single glass bottle. Not enough to contain all of them, but it can hold enough to do significant damage.

Corin grins back, looking somewhere between hungry and infatuated. “Corin,” he said. “And yours?”

Patrik closed his eyes. He felt...empty. Like a flower vase without flowers sitting alone on a table. His power was blocked somehow. What was he without it? He did a quick brain storm. Depressingly, he nothing came to his mind. suddenly he stood, Wavering in a sudden and powerful storm. His legs protested, but he ignored them. He had to unlock his power. How? He fell again with new resolution. He closed his eyes... the rain beat on him. the wind attacked him. The thunder shook him. But he was focused inward.

Breaths. He could feel them. And yet the colors around him were dull... It was smothered by...he didnt really know. HE tried desperately to grab them and pull them to the surface. Nothing happened. He began to cry..  He was going to die!  There was no hope! And yet a curious set of words came into his mind.

Life before death.

Could he live? No, He was too weak without his powers he was nothing.

Strength before weakness.

He need his power. He would find it. He would try. He would get up again. But...He thought of the others. They had been stronger. More powerful. What was the point in fighting even to your last breath, only to fail.

Journey before destination.

Maybe it wasn't to become king. Patrik's whole life was to become a powerful leader. But, as he sat weak in a jungle of nowhere, that didn't matter anymore. His life was not just a destination. Partik had yet to live. He had trained, but for what?

For this.

He could live another day.

He could find his strength.

He could live his life.

With the strain of his entire body, soul, and mind, Patrik reached for his Breaths...

Oh stars, I’m so sorry I completely missed this! It takes more energy than usual to reach his power, but it’s there, and he can use it. Does that help?

Connor begins searching the box for a way to open it, and waves Krin over to help.

Oh, and he’s still covertly watching the person with the knife, whoever that is (I forgot lol)

“Put the knife down and we can talk.” Connor stands and gestures at his soaked clothes “As you can probably see, I’m uhh… completely unarmed??”

The lasso disturbs a demon octopus thing.

“Rust! What is that thing? I thought mistwraiths were supposed to be blobs!” Tondon shouts, on the verge of panic.

Can I get a better description of what it looks like and what it did when the lasso got near, or should I make that up? Also, how wide and deep is this pool?

Tondon drops his vine lasso, mostly out of shock, and the judges distances, trying to figure out if his stick can hit it. He takes a swing, and the entire contraption falls apart, spraying spores into the air. He ducks, covering his head, as vines explode from the pool in front of him. It probably won’t stop the creature for long, but maybe, just maybe, he’ll be able to get to the enticing box, and be able to understand again. He needs some iron. If the monster shows any sign of being entangled, and the box is less than five feet away, Tondon dives in.

“Excellent point! As a matter of fact, I am!” Connor pauses “Okay, that probably doesn’t inspire confidence that I’ll not attack you, but whatever!” He gestures at the box “I’m assuming you want what’s inside the box?”

He’s trained in it, but he sucks at fighting people who are armed when he’s not

@Spark of Hope

The knife didn’t move. “I have no clue what’s in there. You give me first pick of whatever it is, I let you walk. You don’t…” she shrugged.

All he can see so far are tentacles. As the lasso touched the box, it reached out and grabbed it. The pool is probably about knee deep, but waist deep near the box. Beneath that is mud, which is where the tentacles are coming from.

For the most part, you can make things up and I'll veto as needed. Otherwise it gets to be "breathe in, breathe out," which is a boring way to do any rpg.

Several tentacles flailed about in the water, bleeding from wounds caused by the verdant spores. One of them curled around Tondon's arm.

“Depends. If you take something that my friends or I desperately need, then we play a game of chance over it. You win, I let you have it, but if I win, I take it and you get something else, fair enough?” Connor eyes her, “Look, I don’t want to hurt you so soon into the games, but if you hurt one of us…” he shrugs, then says “I will.” His mind races and he thinks, Don’t see through the illusion of confidence, please…

He hits it with his stick, which promptly snaps. Switching to just pulling, he yells at it. “Let me go! What do you want, you rusting creature!” He tries to reach to box, stepping a little into the water to do it. Then, he clobbers the tentacle with it to try to make the thing let go. “I’m not edible, you survivor cursed ruin spawn!” If he can get back out of the water, he tries to put a spore pile between him and the pool, then tries to open the box.

I’ll be leaving in like five minutes, so I’ll probably resolve this tomorrow.
