For the first eleven years of her life, Marewill and her family were happy despite their lower-middle class stance. She, her three-year-old brother, and both her parents lived in their small house happy with what they had, which was enough to get by and just a little more.

One night, she and her father went on a walk to look at the stars, and just to have some time together. However, they ran into a group of people to which her father owed some debts that he attained for his family. Since he was unable to pay them back, they began to beat him, which resulted in his death. She tried to fight back against them, but they just beat her too, and she Snapped.

The next year, she started to “fill out” if you know what I mean. She got the attention of traffickers who tried to take her. Her mom reasoned with them to let Marewill go and allow her to take her daughter’s place. They agreed and took her.

Within the next couple months, Marewill and Meron lost nearly everything. They had no source of income and were forced to the alleys. Three months after she was taken, their mother returned. Pregnant.

Over the next five years, Marewill learned how to knife fight to protect her family. It worked sometimes better than others. She also honed her use of tin when she could, but she could barely get any.

She figured that if she were to win the games, kill a few tributes along the way, she would scare off

Tondon is like holding his shield to his chest and trying to land on him. He manages to twist, taking the dagger in the arm rather than the heart. “Yeah, you’re pretty good at this.” He taps around half his Connection, trying to distract Conner from the Redspine that he tried to stab and is now behind him.

Connor grins and snaps out a “thanks” before spinning to the side and slamming the brand into Tondon’s neck, right at the base of his skull. (he still had the dagger in his hand, he just stabbed Tondon and then dragged it out of his arm when he spun, carving a gash in his arm) as he’s behind Tondon, he spins the dagger in his hand so it’s reversed (like the blade is near his pinky as opposed to his thumb) and whirls again, trying to drive it into Tondon’s back where his heart should be

Tondon, bleeding from several wounds Conner inflicted, manages to Pull the dagger out of the way of his heart. It thuds into his shoulder instead, and he keeps Pulling, worried (for good reason) that he'll bleed out if it slips. Trying to spin around, he weakly hits Conner with his shield then falls to his knees, having difficulty standing due to blood loss. "Corin. Like I said before, give my rewards to Jaksyn, Astra, and the Redspine. Give all three my thanks. I hope one of them wins." His voice is garbled from the vial in his mouth. "Red! Help Jaksyn and Astra. Corin was right. I'm not supposed to be here. But I am, and maybe I can help my friends."

Dougella snores, her dreams sending shivers down her spine. Images of the Deer being eaten by a vicious creature, one with red spines running all across it. She cries out in her sleep, as she watches it butcher it. 

She jolts awake, "Whhaaa....Wheerrr" she mutters still partially asleep, her hair hanging in front of her face like a curtain

"We should get moving again." Sharp said as he destroyed the firepit, hoping to not leave evidence they had been there. "I think we should go looking for some of the others I allied with on the first night, it was some girl and her boyfriend I think? Maybe they can help us."

Dougella glances at him, dusting herself off and using her hand to brush her hair out of her face, where it seems to stand on it's own. "How was your sleep?" she questions him, as she standing up, and moving to help him kick dirt over the fire pit. "I saw the deer we released get killed by a hideous crimson beast" she mutters, small tears leaking to the side of her eyes. 

"On that topic" she says more business like "Is that the same girl that wanted to murder me earlier? She said she would have no problem killing me" she add worridly

Dougella glances at him, He is hiding something maybe? she wonders to herself before mentally shrugging and turning back to the other conversation that they were discussing. "I was passed out, and tied up! How could she be scared of me?" she says in a raised voice at him, noticing the rough ground beneath them for the first time. "Looks like another Change occurred as well" she muttered, going to tap her luck, and noticing it's lost potency. Dang it

"Maybe it's because we're trapped in a murder game? Where you have to kill people to survive? You were tied up, but you were a stranger and that scared her. Threatening you might've been wrong, but it is understandable." He sighed. "I . . . understand if your not comfortable working with her."

"i would do anything to protect my family. after that... I'm not sure. i don't particularly want to hurt anyone but if it will help my family so be it!"
