"I'd appreciate a..." Astra looked around for her glass, found it, then sipped some more, "A weapon of some kind. Something to destroy the world with. To burn it all down. All of it." She began to laugh under her breath, beyond the point of tipsy.

“You really can’t hold your drink, can you?” Corin laughed softly. “I don’t know that I have anything quite that powerful. But I’ll see what I can do. And what can you offer me, pet?” He sounds familiar in the best sort of way. Like a streetlord who’s sure of his turf rather than an aristocrat who believes the world spins at his demand.

Tinker heard the two cannon blasts pierce the still air, punctuated by a sense of dread.

I hope one of those wasn't Marewill. Or...someone killed by Marewill.

Don't know if I could handle either of those now.

He eyed Sharp awkwardly.

Do I say something? Do I just sit here? If I did run off, how bad would that be for me?

"I'm just beginning, darling," and as if to prove her point, Astra slid the empty glass across the counter, "Pour me another."

She sat on a stool. "A weapon, dear. A poison, a net, a dagger, something to kill, to kill someone I love- I cannot kill, I need to kill, why must I be killed?" Her mind was less bitter or upset, and more simply confused, thoughts zapping from every corner of her brain like film frame images.

In a few moments, her eyes focused once more on Corin, once her mind had calmed itself. "Offer... I have much to offer... I could offer coins, but no, that's not exciting at all. I could offer rings, but I love my rings, and I have them at a higher value than you ever will, unless you take value in another's pain, in which I could offer you all my pain in the world. I could offer love, yet there is little of it left, for I am here because of love and I will die because of love but I love because of love, so there isn't much more to offer. I could offer joy, though my joy is just as good as your joy and your joy is beyond the point of repair so there is little value in either of our joys. I could offer my sense, because this cage will drive me to paranoia and steal my sanity, I know, so I might as well sell what I am bound to lose. I tell you this as a friend, but a gambler never reveals such secrets, and would better lie to escalate the proposed value of such a bargain. I am here and I need something from you and yet you need something from me though I have nothing left to give but myself and my coins and my love and my joy and my sanity, my sweet, sweet, sanity. In such a world, I believe people quite prefer to take the coins and be done with it. The only object of substantial value. Though everything else is far, far, more valuable to people, truly. Possibly transferrable. A gray zone, always. It all depends on how much value you put in an item, and how much value another takes from it. This is what a negotiation is. A deal. And so, I come to you."

With her final word, she seemed to sober just a little, eyes falling a little darker, and smile twisting into something a bit more conscious.

“Whatever you need. Mostly.”

“Do you mean you’ll gamble for what I need, or I’ll gamble for what I need, or both? Never mind, would you take some spores to deal me in? What game are we playing?” Tondon pours out half of his pink spore vial onto the table. “If I win, could you get me something that can tell how far away people are and wake me up if they get too close? Or if that’s not possible, some iron shavings or a shield made from duralumin?” @Ancient Elantrian

So I get two sickle shaped blades (what metal?), some meat, some multivitamins, and the promise for iron filings and a duraluminmind once Corin gets access to them (presumably after the Scadreil change), right @Edema Rue? If the Gambler somehow has access to the metal and Tondon wins, could Corin give Tondon something else on his list?

With her final word, she seemed to sober just a little, eyes falling a little darker, and smile twisting into something a bit more conscious.

Corin met her eyes. He was quiet for a long, long moment. “I don’t want your coins,” he finally said. “And if you try to give me your sanity, I’ll do everything I can to give it back.” He coughed, then added, “not sure how much you have to give anyway.” He turned around, scanning his bottles. With a flourish, he tipped one into a small jar. He added another and swirled them together. Both had been clear to begin with, but they darkened to purple. Without looking, he grabbed a bottle of bluish liquid and added the tiniest bit. The concoction turned green, vibrant and terrifying.

He turned back and poured it into Astra’s cup. Reaching below the counter, he sprinkled a powder that looked as if it were tiny diamonds into it.

The drink become a deep crimson. perfectly opaque and dangerously red, it was as if someone had bled into the cup and asked her to drink it.

”You’re clever,” Corin said, watching her intently. “They can’t steal what you don’t give them. Are you really going to give them your sanity? They’ve taken everything else.” He winked. “Don’t tell me you’re just another tribute.”

Correct. The blades will be silver because Corin only offers things that are high quality. He’d have to renegotiate with Corin for that.

Ok, great. The Gambler has a warning fabrial, so we don’t need to worry about renegotiating. The blades being silver is probably for the best, especially if there’s a Threnody change. It does mean that Tondon can’t spike himself by accident, though. (Or on purpose, for that matter)

@Lotus Blossom She found herself on the verge of puking, it felt like the walls of her stomach was being ripped. @Edema Rue (Just trying to start stuff, void some of this if you want)

@Spark of Hope @J. Magi @UnintelligeniusAnd @The Bookwyrm you hear a crack of lightning and a large oak tree behind Marewill begins to fall directly for the group.

@Wierdo as Lucian trudges to the casino he notices at the ground rumbling beneath him.

@RoyalBeeMage @The Stormfather as you leave the land you stumble across Lucian from across the plains about a hundred meters, you can see the ground shifting and cracking beneath him.

@Dragonheir he slowly starts to feel dizzy and lightheaded, like the air around him is slowly making him tipsy. (Elan can void this if needed) @LightRinger also begins to feel the same as they enter the casino.

@WhyEverNot_8 there’s a rock in your way. You trip. It’s a sad trip.

@Scars of Hathsin and Witisthebest begin to suffer from dehydration.

@TheRavenHasLanded you start to feel vines creeping up your legs.
