Astra sighed and summoned her shardblade.

"There's no use using the axe, darling."

In ten heartbeats, Rivia appeared in her grasp.

"When are we cutting the damn tree?"

“Wha? How?” Tondon stares, dumbfounded. “Uh, I guess now?”

"i can offer you the secret about why I am here!

i can offer you the blood of my enemies!

i can offer you... myself?

can the gm's control the minds of people with enough hemelurgy? if so then I will give up my free will and become the ultimate survant to you and your masters."

Corin hummed softly. “How utterly…boring. I’ll tell you what. Start by telling me something that hurts. Something you’ve never told anyone. Your worst moment. You have one, don’t you?”

Tinker grabbed the wounded eagle as it barrelled into the ground after it's strike. He took the silver knife and stabbed it in the throat.

@Edema Rue

It twisted, its unnaturally sharp talons clawing at him in one last, desperate moment. Then it sinks to the snow, dead.

In its place is a large box, much too large to move.

She propped herself up on her elbows, terror still etched on her face. She touched a hand to her cheek, and the three middle fingers came back deep red.

She gripped a fistful of snow and held it to her cheek and nose.

He smiled back, glad she was feeling better. "We should get moving again, I don't want to get ambushed."

She disengages from hugging him. "Yes be ambushed does sound quite bad doesn't it"' she laughs. Wiping some of the tears from her face

roy’s eyes flashed with a mix of defiance and pain, their voice tight and controlled. "You think you can just demand my worst moment and I’ll spill my guts? Fine. There was a time when I thought about ending it all. When the world felt so crushing that disappearing seemed like the only option. I’ve never told anyone because admitting it makes it real. But don’t think for a second that sharing this changes anything between us."

A harsh hiss comes from the microphone next to her ear. “At least the boy knows how to keep you alive.” It buzzes off. @Spark of Hope

“I’m trying,” she whispered.

“Well. That’s better…” Corin placed a glowing gemstone on the counter. “One living, skybreaker shard blade, at your service. But first…” He stared at Roy for a long moment. “You’re a sand master, aren’t you? Give up your ability to use sand.”

"I told you my darkest moment, and now you want more? Giving up my ability to use sand is like asking me to cut off my own arm. Why should I trust you with that?" His voice was a mixture of anger and desperation as he stared into corin’s eyes.

“You don’t have to,” Corin said. “But you were not…ah…dramatic enough, shall we say?” His capital accept seemed to have gotten more defined. His hair seemed even darker, and his voice sounded…different. It was still him, but it was as if he was being worn as a disguise; the costume that was Corin was now being worn by someone…else. “You are entertainment. If you can’t be entertaining, it will cost you more. So. Entertain me.”

She held the shardblade with two hands, ready to slice through the trunk, and shifted her gaze to the others.

Tinker stared at where the eagle had sunk into the snow. He barely comprehended the box that had appeared.

Finally he turned to Marewill, only to see her bloody face. He scrambled over.

"Oh, moons," he said, genuine concern on his face. "How bad is it?"

Don't know if there's anything about the box you wanted to mention.

...How did it get there, anyway? Did the eagle just...dissolve, or something?

She pulled the snowy hand down. Her nose was slightly crooked, and some of the blood had seeped into the snow. There was a decently sized gash on her right cheek from the eagle’s beak.

She stared at him in a moment, before quietly saying, “You tell me. I just know it hurts.”

Roy's eyes widened slightly at the transformation before him, but he quickly masked his surprise. His voice was filled with a mixture of bitterness and resignation. "Entertainment, huh? You get off on other people's pain. Fine." He took a deep breath, steadying himself, his fists clenching and unclenching. "You want me to give up my sand mastery? Consider it done."

Roy's gaze hardened, but there was a flicker of vulnerability in his eyes. "I’ll give it up. Not because you demanded it, but because I've already lost so much. One more sacrifice won't break me. You want a show? Tell the Capitol to watch closely."

"You have a cut on your cheek...and it looks like your nose is broken. I can re-set your nose, though it's not going to be pleasant...are there first aid supplies in the stuff you got from the casino?"

“No… camping supplies.”

He could have let it kill me. The GM would have gotten off his back, and he would have been one person closer to getting out of here.

Why didn’t he?

What supplies specifically?

"Well...great."

Tinker tore off another part of his sleeve and folded it over. "Use this to stop your cheek until we can get a better bandage. And...I should probably re-set your nose now. Better to get it over with as soon as possible."

She blew out. “Okay, okay.” It seemed more to herself than him.

She held the cloth on and her eyes closed.

After he sees what the blade can do to the tree, he says, “Whoa. What is that thing? Is it even possible to defeat someone using one, if it does that to a tree? Can they cut through anything? Why’d you have to cut twice?”

I agree with the meme. Cut down the tree already!
Also, I know how shardblades work so Astra doesn’t need to answer in any real detail.

"If you're burning tin, I'd extinguish it for this."

He gave her a moment to do so, then started feeling at her nose.

Why are you nervous? Mom taught you to do this...trust yourself.

He took a breath to calm himself, then quickly snapped her nose back into place.

Her free hand darted to her nose and her eyes squeezed shut.

Corin’s lips twitched, and suddenly he was back just how he had been. “I’ll count on it.” He took a long breath, and as he inhaled Roy felt his ability to control sand leaving him, as if it were a tangible thing. The gemstone on the counter cracked, and a spren floated out. “All yours.”

There’s a canvas tent, a fire starter, a sleeping bag, and several protein bars. And because you need medical supplies, a single bandaid with bright pink smiley faces on it.
