<it's unclear so I have to ask if you got the reference>

Eh? Sorry. Didn't catch the reference, whatever it was. :P

In other news, the fantabulous, incredimazible LarkoftheRiver just drew free pixel icons for my favorite of my extraterrestrial designs.

The second one in particular does a stupendous job of capturing how I'd imagined them--it's actually helping me to solidify my mental image, which has mutated sporadically over the past couple of years.

Thank you, LarkoftheRiver. Everyone else, go shower her with upvotes. :D

Being out here in rural Texas, we get a lot of stray kittens when their owners dump them to the side of the road and drive off. We then take them in and try to give them a good home.

This kitten, Spirit by name, was feral and half-starved the day before yesterday, hissing and scratching when approached or touched.

Now she's lounging around on our windowsills and purring loudly when we pet her. ^_^

I have a similar story! :) Back in November 2014, me and my GF took in 5 starved cats, that were mistreated and very ill. The cat, that was in the worst condition, we called him Germ, looked like this:

He weighed only a bit over 1 kilogram, only skin and bones. For many days he didn't move much, only to eat a bit, drink some water, and than slumbered back to being a little ball of misery :(

However, we didn't let him give up! We gave him antibiotics, vitamins, special food and after couple of weeks, progress could be seen :) Germ was moving around, his fur got darker and he gained weight :) Here, a comparison:

Now, after over 6 months, healthy diet and our care he looks like this :) (don't mind the comic text)

And we're looking for a new home for him :) I hope, we'll find a loving family that will take good care of him for many years to come :)
