Sunbird she/her
I got to make a sheet of paper by hand today on a mini-field trip for my college course "History of the Book." That was fun. I also got some discounted froyo because a local yogurt shop was having a 50% off sale today. Frozen yogurt is always a good idea.

One of those American football things where a player does a particular gesture and people treat this 1-second move like it's a whole dance move. Reveal hidden contents That's dabbing. The drum majors of our band actually put one into their salute. A little part of me dies every time they do it.

When it comes to many elements of American culture, the question "Why?" can often be answered with "Why not?"

That misogyny has been a part of western society for as long as anyone can remember, though, to varying degrees of severity. It's not like the rest of the world was perfectly egalitarian until America invented misogyny. The same goes for other social ills: They came here with the original colonists and took different forms.

Bigotry in general, actually.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her
They bother me, too, but they weren't distinctly American inventions. You could argue that they've been with us since the first group of humans noticed that there was something different about another group of humans and decided that those differences weren't okay.

True, that. We should have a "philosophical debates" thread.

Quiver he/him
I spend a lot of time complaining about work. I'm gonna throw them a bone: My boss rearranged the entire month rota because I said I'd prefer to work a certain type of shift going forward. I didn't ask him to, and I said repeatedly that I was cool with working what had already been given to us until we got caughtup. And he changed it anyway Almost makes me feel bad for all the whining I do.
Sunbird she/her
@Quiver I'm really happy for you. I always sympathy-cringe when you tell us about the crem you have to deal with at your job, so I hope the new schedule makes your life easier.
Mistrunner
There's this guy on the bus who hated me. It was really bad. He liked calling me crazy and quite a few less flattering names. If he saw me around school, he'd veer out of the way to avoid crossing paths. Today there wasn't much room in the back of the bus, so I sat next to him. An agreement to take over the world and a few enthusiastic renditions of the Pokémon theme later, I think it's safe to say we might be friends.

This sound like the beginnings of a life-long friendship XD. This is gonna build up I'm afraid This term, in art, we were airbrushing skateboards, sadly, the air-pressure thing broke, so I was forced to paint mine, anyway, I got it back from the school exhibition, and now it's on display. Spoiler For some reason it uploads upside down. Anyway, now we are doing Environments and we created a "pop out" artwork, where an aspect of the environment pops out of the frame. Spoiler Here's my titlepage, with random cosmere stuff in it. This time it posted sideways :/ And here's the pop-out artwork So the above artwork was picked for the exhibition as well, and my teacher has started us on a mural project for our special needs area of our school, just to jazz it up a bit. He picked my pokemon one, as well as some other people's artworks for the mural, and we started work yesterday. We are doing it on these large wooden panels, and I've begun pencilling it, so far so good Will post updates to it
