The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!

So, often someone online quotes a Jewish saying but misattributes it to someone more recent.

Eg "if not me, who? If not now, when?" - Emma Watson

Nope that was Hillel the Elder in round about 100 BCE, give or take a century im approximating.

Im going somewhere with this:

someone I follow on facebook just quoted a famously Jewish quote. And correctly attributed it! So much awesomeness!!!

I feel happy today.

I don't know why. The things that have been bothering me lately haven't gone away. But today, I sort of feel more hopeful and optimistic about them? Like, they are things I can overcome and explore, rather than being insurmountable and crushing.

I might be able to make the Knoxville one. I would sell my organs to go to one of their shows, Slowswift. I saw them at a free outdoor concert in the spring, and they were phenomenal.

They're gonna be in Salt Lake, too, at the Depot on February 12.

There are times when I think I love bands, and then... :P

Cool!

It's Dawes, right? I've not heard them before. I guess I'll have to add them to the ever-growing list of bands to look up. :P

I retook the ACT last month, all in the hopes of getting a better scholarship.

Today, I got my scores.

(Technically, I got 35's on math and science, but I don't care right now.)

I still can't believe it. This basically means a full-ride for me, which will be hugely appreciated. Maybe, I'll get through college without mountains of debt. Maybe.

Congratulations!!! I got a 36 too!!

Leaving for All East today!

All East is a choir competition held in East Tennessee every year, this year it's in Maryville (about a half hour south of Knoxville), and I'm part of my school's freshman All East group (Seven freshmen were chosen so I feel lucky). There are gonna be a lot of people there and I'm excited (not to mention anxious). We leave at 1 PM (for reference, I posted this at 9:45 AM).

(Wow, I used a lot of parentheses in this post)

I remember choir competitions. They were my favorite thing in school after One Act Plays. We came in 2nd place in our state my senior year for One Act Plays. I don't even feel bad about not winning it cause the school that did win was totally awesome. Have fun today and be safe!
