Popular Post TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her
The climax continues. Right when they're about to win, right when the Alethi army's fight looks hopeless….it gets worse. Adolin and Dalinar never thought they'd be overjoyed to see a bridge crew. His Shardplate damaged, his limbs sluggish, his injuries casting a fog around his brain, Dalinar thinks he's about to look into the face of death. Instead he sees….some other things. Kaladin discovers something about the Parshendi. The Parshendi have a new nickname for Kaladin. Although Kaladin clearly dislikes him, Dalinar nonetheless reacts with honor. His house broken, his army all but destroyed, Dalinar nonetheless vows revenge. And that is something I sincerely look forward to.

My reaction to Twi's Stormmeme Archive: WoK spoilers: I'm surprised so few people talk about the Taravangian reveal when they finish the book, though. That was the most bewildering yet well-executed twist of any Sanderson novel, in my opinion.

Seriously, I scoured the entire site and I couldn't find a picture that fit. Even my pugs didn't yield me any suitable pictures for that.

Mistrunner
It's a really, really good book. Thank you. Please explain this to my friends, who currently believe I am some sort of addict who has sold her soul to the reading demons. Of course, no words on if this is true...

Popular Post TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her
Okay! I've read more in WoR, and…. Kaladin learns a few quirks about Surgebinding. Shallan gets to know Pattern. ….and then, something awful happens. And to be honest, this was my only thought: I really liked Jasnah, okay? In a desperate escape attempt, Shallan and Pattern retreat to Shadesmar to ask the Wind's Pleasure a question. Its answer isn't what Shallan was looking for. Nevertheless, the Wind's Pleasure complies. Stick, on the other hand…. The next morning, Shallan tests Jasnah's advice again.
Popular Post TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her
Sorry about the delay, everyone, but without further ado, I present Memes of Radiance: Interludes. How I think most Alethi Shardbearers would react to Eshonai: My reaction: Actually, Parshendi listener society as a whole is pretty awesome. We meet Ym. ….and then something happens. Rysn returns and goes to the Reshi Isles. …if you'll pardon the accidental pun. Her babsk sends her to negotiate for him. And negotiate she does. And now I return to reading. Popular Post TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her
Previously, in Words of Radiance…. Adolin dueled a man named Salinor, who seemed less than concerned. Adolin was not pleased. It shocks the lighteyes present, not to mention the highjudge. But Renarin gets his Shardblade, so it all works out. Shallan and Pattern discuss what brings people and spren together. Okay, so I made the cake part up. Sue me. But then Pattern shares some news…. …that Shallan finds almost as disturbing as that photo. Later, Kaladin meets the man tasked with training Renarin, who does not see Kaladin as a good pupil. Adolin, seeing the impromptu sparring lesson, finally pushes Kaladin over the edge. (It's not my fault those words rhyme so beautifully. ) Oddly enough, Kaladin's supply of Stormlight vanishes just as he's about to take out his general frustrations toward the lighteyes on Adolin. Oh, and because I somehow forgot to mention Pattern's opinions on eating when he first shared them…. Back to reading. Popular Post TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her
Previously, in Words of Radiance…. Past-times Shallan hadn't spoken in five months. Then, her oldest brother returns. Dad is not pleased. ….and then Helaran whips out a freakin' Shardblade. As you do. Back in the present, Tvlakev's caravan is about to be attacked by bandits from one side and deserters from another. Shallan knows that of all the things that can happen, this has to be…. She has an idea of which Pattern would approve. She approaches an army of deserters. Amazingly, it works. Meanwhile, Kaladin weathers the highstorm with the royal family. Adolin's victory is having a few unforeseen consequences. Kaladin tells Dalinar why he doesn't like Amaram. Dalinar's reaction is…not what Kaladin hoped for. Speaking of slaves, Shen asks a few pointed questions. And then there's an attempt on Elhokar's life. Elhokar is not one to pass up an opportunity to rant about his bodyguards. Later, Shallan speaks with one of the deserters.

Popular Post TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her
Being stuck in a car for quite some time gave me a lot of time to read. Having killed Tyn, Shallan wakes up with a new outlook on life. She has Vathah and Gaz escort her to the palace, where she requests an audience with Dalinar. Before she can enter, however…. Despite his obvious displeasure at giving into yet another one of Shallan's requests…. ….Kaladin returns with permission from Dalinar. Shallan plays it cool…. ….until Adolin shows up. Dalinar offers Shallan a position with his clerks, but Shallan refuses. She goes with Sebarial instead. And learns a surprising thing or two. Later, Renarin makes an unusual request. The next evening, Shallan decides to infiltrate the Ghostbloods. And Kaladin takes Zahel up on his offer for training, as do Teft, Moash, and Yake. Despite Teft's grouchiness…. …things go well. Until Moash reveals something shocking. Since I read quite a bit (and I'm worried about losing all the memes I made like I did last time ) I shall post Part Two later on.
