Well, here's a story illustrating Kaymyth's assertion that criminals are dumb.

See?  It's true!

As part of my ambassadorial duties, I speak to and escort VIP guests for any given school ceremonies. Today I met a State Assemblyman who is running for senate, Scott Wilk. This is the guy whose campaign slogan is "Got Wilk?".

He did not want to be called "Mr. Wilk" or "Assemblyman Wilk". He wanted us to call him "Future Senator Wilk".

Is it just me, or is that kind of ridiculous?

I'd call it outright arrogant.

There is too much cringe in this ad for me to verbally express.

Ew.  Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew.

Hey hey, enough with the negativity. The four year olds in Miss Sally's Sunshine Preschool worked very hard on that ad.

Oh. I first saw it on mobile and so didn't get the full Stepford effect, but now that I'm on my laptop….I see what you mean.

If you're going to give him a milk mustache, add a monocle and a goatee while you're at it.

With spoilers for the first 50 or so Night Vale episodes, can I say the character I most emphasise with and relate to?

Steve Carlsberg. He seem's like such a nice, well-intentioned, if somewhat bumbling, individial and OH MY GOD HE REMINDS ME OF ME.

I have opinions on Steve Carlsberg, okay? He's great

Was someone saying they wanted/needed/lost a copy of SoS? I've ended up with an extra copy, if someone wants it.

Edit: So I go to youtube to listen to Disney music. I get an ad for supernatural. That is a very different tone than I was going for..... :P

Edit 2: I'm reminded that the Hebrew singers for Tangled are better than the English. Also, the lanterns look like marshmallows.

Definitely one of your best chapters. That was *hilarious*.

So.....ham and pineapple are a good combination? I've never had ham - or any pizza with meat actually - but it just sounds unpleasant.

We call it a Hawaiian pizza, and though I've had a good one before, it's usually garbage.

Then again, I don't like ham.

Thanks! ^_^

It's one I like, especially when there's just a little bit of spice involved—some jalapeños on the pizza, maybe. The pineapple gets sweeter as it's cooked, so it winds up adding a nice contrast to the saltiness of the ham. It's very much a love-it-or-hate-it thing, kind of like mushrooms on pizza or mushrooms in general.

Oh my god.

TwilyghtSansSparkles is George R R Martin.

You did a good job of concealing your identity, but writing lavish prose about food gave you away!

(In retrospect, the Spokaneverse is also a clue)

Shouldn't you be working on the Winds of Winter?:P

But all that plus cheese?

Definitely interesting....

funnily enough, I very much like AND dislike mushroom depending on if/how it's cooked.

You know what else is weird on pizza? Corn. Just pizza base, tomato paste, cheese and corn. And /or tuna.

Last time I checked Twi WAS the GRRM of.....zombie caribou, I think? I'm on mobile.

It's like a good mystery, or a well-written plot twist. It's all so obvious in hindsight; all the clues were right in front of us, all along!

When it comes to pizza, I'm happy with classic pepperoni. Other kinds of meats are also ok by me except the spicy kind of sausage; I can't handle spicy. But I hate pineapple as a general rule, so putting it on a pizza would completely destroy my desire to eat said pizza.

The Washington Post put out a list of books that "show empathy and kindness." Some books on the list have empathy and kindness as themes; others introduce kids to different experiences and teach empathy that way. I've read some of the books on that list. So I scrolled down to the comments and saw this:

Quote

Sorry, Ms. Joyce, you are part of the very serious problem, suggesting that a bunch of feel-good books is what kids must read.
Your suggestions lead directly to the "snowflakes" populating today's college campuses, running off to "safe spaces" whenever anyone brings up uncomfortable thoughts that upset them.

I'd hardly call The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian and Sold "feel-good books." "Books that everyone should read," yes. "Books that this person has probably never read," yes. "Feel-good books" they are not.

A lot of people are not connected to reality in any meaningful way.

Did you know there are people who don't own cats? How they are suppose to avoid the eldritch horrors of the Dream Realm, I will never know.

Hah! Because of excessive exposure to the Dream Realm, I have managed to conquer its eldritch terrors and become its queen! All shall bow before me!

I'm allergic to cats, but Bruce has proven to be an able protector thus far. Sure, he's only barked at thunder, but who knows what that thunder might've done if he hadn't barked at it. :P

Broken into your house and magnetized all your dinnerware?

That sounds like a fun thing I should do to someone who deserves it...
