hes visualising the fabric of your world, idk how really, but he is. grabbing his soul-staff-sword, it allowed him to see even better.

"wait, you- you can't see it?"

"No, I can't see things only you can see."

"So why did you think it would fail?"

Hmmmmmmmm. Maybe energy shield powers?

Yeah but canonically, Thaidakar would've been fine without Desolation.

"I thought you liked Thaidakar."

Thaidakar wouldn't have died if desolation didn't:

•Get the Mordite blade required to kill thaidakar

•Have the advice of Darkness on how to kill Thaidakar

•Fight Thaidakar, weakening him to the point where he was actually susceptible to the Mordite blade.

@Being of Cacophony

"I am here to supervise the blade. If something goes wrong, I should be able to fix it with effort."

Thaidakar was always susceptible to the Mordite blade, but yeah, he wouldn't have been weak enough for Platypus to actually hit him with it unless Desolation had fought him first. (but if Desolation hadn't been around he'd probably have figured something else out, like Subversion sneak attacking him or something).

there are more ways to kill a Narrator than mordite, though it is the most sure one

Wouldn't be needed as Thaid wanted to die

Mordite can kill anything, weakening him did nothing

Again, Thaid wanted it to happen, he wanted Platypus to kill him, so he wouldn't have stopped him.

"Then why are you here? I won't give up any of mine."

“I need the sword called Plot Significance.”

Speaking of Mordite…

Drilk grabbed at the hilt of his dagger, feeling its dark aura around his hand. Then he remembered, it was Mordite. Platypus should be scared of it. “Give me the plotblade.”

Maybe? I don't know, coming up with powers isn't my strong suit.

Unintelligible walked up. "I can vouch for him. He really did have a run-in with Desolation."

Platypus leveled his Narrationblade at Drilk. "You can't have it." Then, seeing the Mordite, he lets hooks Vengeance to his belt and grabs hold of his Mordite sword. "Your dagger is no match for my sword."

Platypus wouldn't know the scared if he was facing down the Witherlord. He's kinda like Nameless in that regard.

"So Unintelligible? That means nothing." Platypus looked at Moni standing in between him and Drilk. "Move Moni. I want to be able to look in his eyes so I can catch him in a lie, or fight him easier. Whichever comes first."

"Subsy keeps telling me I'm overconfident. I tell her that to be overconfident, I'd have to not have the skills to back it up."

Moni snorted. "I wouldn't normally trust 'Subsy' as an authority on overconfidence, but in this case I'd say she's right. One of these days you're going to get humbled."
