“I don’t see why not. But where is the front door?” Woe asked.

The old man knocked on the stones at the base of the tower with his staff.  “Where else? Right in front of us. Just ask them to move.”

and stormed through the door.

Inside was a simple, but incredibly ornate and complicated spiral staircase with carvings and embroidered tapestries layer over it. It wound upwards as far as one could see. At the top there was a light, barely visible and easily mastakable for a truck of the eye.

“Shall we proceed?” Woe snapped and a lantern appeared in his hand. He snapped again and a lantern appeared in each of the others hands as well.

“You guys are all very fancy, I have to do the same…”

Woe spun around, created a strong gust of wind that spread into a whirlwind around him. He hovered then raced to the top. There stood an open window that he crouched and flew into, letting go of the whirlwind.

Inside…

Inside there was a large oval room, walls covered in intricate murals. In the center of the room there was a woman whose eyes were empty sockets, sitting down with a pair of axes lying on the ground in front of her. She didn’t look up at Woe’s entry.

Nogard watched the others make their way up.

"Uh," he said weakly. "A lift, anyone?"

“Well usually narrator names have meaning. Mine is unfortunate…but that doesn’t metter now, does it? Nope! What we should be pondering is this man over there…”

He pointed at Hacob

“…and the adventure I am about to take you on!”

Hacob wondered why they should ponder him. Then he poofed to where they are now. Adventures were usually not as much fun as people thought, and he would probably have to save someone when someone on the adventure turned evil. It almost always happened.

The man did not turn, but Nogard felt a great number of furry things brushing against his legs.

Opposite the adventurers, in the other window stood Falvan. “… you have fun with you this one. She is very conveniently here.” He threw a few stone pebbles on the floor. From the rocks spouted bones. The bones morphed and grew into four skeletal tigers that advanced slowly, mystically growling.
Falvan smiled, turned and flew away until the night.

Shoe bit off two of the tigers' heads. Turns out they are actually made of marshmallow, and very delicious.

Inside of shoe, the bones began to grow and click into tigers. They expanded, until they leapt out of her mouth, making six skeletal tigers.

Nogard sneezed.

Above, the sounds of fighting began. He frowned. "Should we be worried about that?"

The man shook his head. "Doesn't sound like she's gotten involved yet." The stone escalator reached the top of the stairs, and he stepped off, walking steadily towards the room where everyone fought.
