ccstat he/him
6. Did Taravangian go to the Nightwatcher before or after Gavilar's death? Those same quotes bothered me, too. It would also be useful to find out when the diagram was written--it could have been any time after his Nightwatcher visit, weeks or years. I still want someone to ask how many parties there were to the original Oathpact. (If it doesn't make it into a signing, I may need to just order a personalized book to find out.) This seems vague enough to not be RAFO bait, but still tell us a number of things. Likely answers and what they reveal: 3 means it was just between the Shards (2 means Cultivation wasn't directly involved) 13 means the Heralds signed on right at the start, rather than being designated as "champions" or something after the agreement with Rayse was formalized 23 means the Unmade were also involved, and the pact is more symmetrical than it might seem Edited March 19, 2014 by ccstat

Luke.spence
Luke’s Brandon Sanderson Signing Questions: 1. After Kaladin betrayed his oaths, was Syl as dead as the spren that died during the Recreance? 2. Does Taln still have possession of his Honorblade? 2b. You mentioned that human can’t bond Honorblades, but Nalan tells Szeth that his bond with his Honorblade has been broken. Can you clear this up? 3. What caused a desolation to end? Was it just the defeat of Odium's forces? 4. If the Parshendi/Parshmen are the Voidbringers, or at least their hosts, then why weren't they wiped out after the end of each Desolation? 5. Are the events in WoR before or after the events in Warbreaker? 6. Which map contains the easter egg? 7. Is Odium one of the three in the Epigraph: "Three of sixteen ruled, but now the broken one reigns"? 8. What can you tell me about the Dustbringers? 9. Is the author of the letter in WoR seen in either of the SA books? 10. How are the letters between Hoid and his “old friend” delivered? 11. Were creatures on Roshar changed by one of the shards in the way that Sazed changed Scadrial? 12. How much Stormlight would equal 1 Breath? 13. Are all the heralds aware that Taln is back? 14. How many parties were there to the original Oathpact? That's the list of all the questions from here that haven't been answered. I'm not sure how many he will answer, but better to have too many than too few
Kurkistan he/him
I can tell you that #5 has been answered: Warbreaker is kind of a "prequel" for Vasher, so that means that it came first. There isn't even any weird midquel stuff going on because Nightblood (the book) is between Warbreaker and WoK. I had hopes that it was different so we would know that Vasher ends up with NB again lol.
Moogle
I'm with you, Moogle, for the most part. My problem is: I'm not convinced that Brandon saw it that way when he made his "three types" statement. Therefore, I think it's a good question to ask. As for the three types in WoK vs. three types in total thing, I meant that more as a general statement. I am perfectly aware that you didn't say there were only three in total and did not in any way intend to offend! I wasn't offended! I think it may be my rampant use of italics that conveys that impression, as I have noticed I get more downvotes (only got one for my previous post though, so yay) when I use italics than when I don't. I may also be phrasing things poorly lately since you're the second person to think I'm offended when I'm not in the span of two days. I'm not really sure how to fix this besides using italics less (as it is, when I normally make a post every other word is italicized and I have to edit those out) and attempting to sprinkle everything I say with maybes/I thinks, so I'll try and do that more. I'll look over my posts more carefully in the future. I think you might be right on Brandon, but I lean towards him referring to Wit's sword. Interpreting WoBs is tricky business, unfortunately, as it's always possible Brandon didn't hear the question right or something. It might be more phrasing. I get in trouble with phrasing a lot on GR.

Grayv he/him
I like RAFOs because it means your asking the right questions. After that, you just need to find the right way to ask it to get pieces of the puzzle.

shinintendo
How many questions can you ask in one signing? certain time allotted to each? per buying? Isn't it smart to meet some group per signing to show them your hand (a.k.a your list)? If it was me I would've share all my questions with people, let them choose. maybe some people will pick up yours and you can get much more answers this way

ccstat he/him
Obviously you've already made your list, but I thought of another one. "Does one of the new Listener rhythms correspond to the Alethi Thrill?" The answer is probably no, but if it is yes then there are 10 rhythms, one for each Unmade. darkanimereal1
How many questions can you ask in one signing? certain time allotted to each? per buying? It really comes down to "How many questions can you ask without holding up the signing line too much?" lol We averaged about 2-3 questions per person each time through (we went through the line twice). We were stupid and didn't record his answers the first time (feel soooo dumb), but I do have a recording of his answers for both of our second times through. I'm going to write up everything later today (at work until 5:30, so it won't be for another 8 hours at least, but I'll work on it). I didn't have a recording device to listen to other people's questions, but just wait. We got some really awesome information, some of which was very "Wait, This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules!?" Ha ha. Luke.spence
We (meaning me, Darkanimereal1, and my brother), got a recording of this particular section, and another person's question about love triangles, but I'll let Dark1 post the love triangle, since that's kinda her thing lol. These aren't the perfect answers, just what I wrote down or remember. After Dark1 transcribes it, we'll have the exact wordings. Q: 2b. You mentioned that human can’t bond Honorblades, but Nalan tells Szeth that his bond with his Honorblade has been broken. Can you clear this up? A: Humans CAN bond Honorblades. There's a crucial difference between Honorblades and Shardblades. When you drop an Honorblade, it does not disappear, even if it has been bonded. A Shardblade will disappear when dropped. Q: 3. What caused a desolation to end? Was it just the defeat of Odium's forces? A: The Heralds will cause another Desolation to start if they don't leave Roshar to be tortured within a time limit. Q: 5. Which map contains the easter egg? A: (I put these in that thread). Q: 11. How much Stormlight would equal 1 Breath? A: He has it written down, but doesn't know off the top of his head. Doesn't know if he'd say, even if he did remember. Q: 12. Are all the heralds aware that Taln is back? A: If that person actually IS Taln. I'm not saying he's not, but he may not be who you would think he is. Q: 13. How many parties were there to the original Oathpact? A: 11. The Heralds and Honor. They thought that by walking away from their oaths, that it would break the Oathpact. They're going to find out that it's not quite as broken as they had previously thought (meaning the Heralds). There are more tidbits, but that will have to wait for the transcription, which is way better than my shoddy memory. Kurkistan he/him
Thank you Luke. Nice to finally clear up the Honorblade confusion. Though now there's more confusion, as Szeth intentionally drops his Blade in his second-to-last interlude in WoK and it mistifies. I suppose he willed it to vanish, then? I love to listen to the signings while working We didn't get the whole thing sadly There were several complications in the recording department, so all we got was a recording of the love triangle bits, and our second round of questions (the ones of mine that didn't get recorded are the map, the Honorblade, and the Oathpact parties). There is quite a good bit of stuff on the recording though. The recording is on Darkanime1's ipod, so if you want to ask her I'm sure she'd love to.
