Oh yeah! We have a few colonies of cockroaches that we've basically grown ourselves, including some Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. All of them are tropical cockroaches, so they just die if they get out. No pest infestation. 

But yes, we feed our tarantulas home-grown cockroaches.

That's really cool! We've found at least two snakes in our basement before we moved and at least three bats and a couple birds in window wells.

My Dad used to have a tarantula, and we did the same thing.
