I like to analyze Sanderson's writing style. I enjoy seeing him progress as a writer. I read to appreciate or gain insight from his larger, "life" themes. (psychology, theology, politics, social structures, racism, currency etc) I can't possibly keep up with the various nuances of each system of Awesome (magic/whatever) within each book and how it all may relate to the Cosmere but it's pretty cool reading some of the stuff presented here.
My life is pretty stressful. Reading is a good escape. I tend to craft my life in ways that eliminate as many obstacles toward my Happiness as possible. That includes, but is not limited to--only about 40 minutes of television per week (if that) without commercials, commercial-free radio, as little news as possible, and looking at the world while standing on my head. I enjoy art, indie music and pretty much Anything that helps me learn something new. I never met a bookshelf I didn't like. Put me in Any bookstore, pick the shelf and I promise I can find 3 books that I would be interested in reading. This mental questing is in direct conflict with my enormous desire to live life "on vacation."
