I feel empty

I hate these days

No-one seems to be on

and I have no-one to talk to

Honestly, the only times we have lengthy conversations

Are on either mine your your bad days 

And it kind of hurts, to think that

the only reason we can talk

the only reason we relate

Is because of our failings

and what the world

has done to

us

You always answer with one or two words nowadays

And everything feels so one-sided

I'm always the one checking in

asking if you're ok

desperately hoping

that one day, I can come home

and find that you've rambled something to me

just as I have, just as I'm doing right now. And it hurts

because I know, in the end, I need you

and you

you don't need me
