Finished Fires of Heaven FINALLY. Gonna take a break from Wheel of Time, and hit my backlog. I'm probably gonna read Tower of Nero next, maybe focus on that, and then jump back into Golden Compass, Hobbit, and Name of the WInd

And that ends The Fires of Heaven. That was a good book, it ended good, but DAMN if I didn't have a hard time getting through it for whatever reason. I am definitely taking a break from WoT for a while, gonna hit the backlog and actually finish some of these books I started last year.

Woah. Rand's Balefire literally reversed the deaths of Aviendha, Mat, and Asmodean. Damn

And thus Rahvin is dead

Ladies and gentlemen, today I finish. What happened last was Nynaeve put an a'dam on Moghedian and Rand was chasing Rahvin. Now we go.

Okay then. So seemingly Moiraine and Lanfear are dead. I do believe Moiraine is dead for real, she has a lot of death flags and Lan's bond changed, which I think is reason enough to believe it. Lanfear I am not so sure on. Moiraine's final note makes me think that she might actually be dead, but I will not be surprised if she shows up out of nowhere again anyway.

It looks like the setup for the end of the book is Rand going to Caemlyn and fighting Rahvin. That is not at all where I thought this was going. ALSO MAT KILLED MELINDRHA OKAY I EXPECTED THAT EVEN LESS

LMAO, Alviarin's letter asks Rand to keep the contents a secret. Rand reads it, reads it one more time, then immediately lets Moiraine read it. Absolutely wonderful

So fun fact that you might not know going into this second chapter.

I have two very good uses of time travel. Sadly one of them is a major spoiler for the series in question so I can't mention it. I can mention the other, however. Steins;Gate! It's my favorite time travel story of all time, its time travel mechanics are very smartly written. I'm gonna give some minor spoilers on the mechanics in the tag but it's really nothing huge, this is more just a courtesy. (Hold that thought, I actually remembered another really good time travel story that I liked a lot. It uses bootstrap paradoxes and justifies their existence in the world even though they should realistically be impossible and it's actually really good, it's a visual novel called Remember11, check it out) Anyway as for things that cause plot holes other than time travel, it's making up the plot on the fly, or at least aspects of the plot on the fly. Dragon Ball surprisingly averts this despite being completely made up but it still comes up now and again, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure does this a lot, and even One Piece, despite how tightly plotted it is, creates some plot holes by aspects that weren't initially planned (most notably with haki and certain characters seemingly not knowing about haki despite the fact that they were well should).

Yeah Vantage Masters is, like, a legit competitive card game like Magic or Runeterra. It's very easy comparatively and has a lot less options, but it's legit. until you get the knight and can just face tank literally everything in the game

Finished Persona 5 Strikers. 10/10, best Persona game
