"You're always having 'a little' blood loss. It's gotta stack up eventually!"

((What I mean is, he didn’t accidentally aid her plan or anything.  And the only reason he hasn’t picked up the fleet and gone on the offensive is because OOC, you’ve wanted to suspend the action and develop more tension pre-climax. Is she just trying to get Vespyr to doubt himself?))

Corwin chuckled nervously. “It’s fine. I haven’t fainted yet!”

"I put ice all over the floor and then the bad guy got destroyed. And maybe we should seek medical attention, especially for Corwin?"

“I’m fine!” Corwin piped up. “Just a little blood loss. Let my marrow get to work, and I’ll be back in action!”

Well done, Vespyr. The Queen spoke into her ex-dreadlord's mind. Even in exile, everything you did went perfectly according to plan.

((I don’t believe anything that Vespyr did had any consequence on that post, though.))

  3. 1 hour ago, Fallapede said:

"If I do not, I cannot live with myself." Brother Sparrow carefully lifted Cumulo's torso up, sliding a few layers of gauze beneath him to catch the pooling blood as he did. "I doubt it is safe to move him yet, so I shall have to work quickly. Please do your best to help me remain conscious."

"I do not know how to ensure that," Vespyr said stiffly.

  4. 42 minutes ago, Fallapede said:

Brother Sparrow withdrew from the link with Cumulo and allowed his senses to return, channelling his Aspect inward to dull his own pain. As he noticed Cumulo's unmoving form, he sprang into action, grabbing needle, thread, and antiseptic from his bag.

((He stabbed him severely in the lower belly, below the ribs, in the small and large intestine, a diagonal cut going upward.  He *can* survive this.))

”If you save him,” Vespry breathed, “he will kill you.”

  5. Just now, Channelknight Fadran said:

Cumulo grunted, blood spilling onto the glassy sand beneath him.

Volts... VOLTS... He cried out. No... not like this...

((How many are there?  We can just pull as many as we need to make intimidating threats towards endgame, but we should level our people up so they can reasonably face them.))

  6. 11 minutes ago, Channelknight Fadran said:

((What did you have planned for this encounter?  What did you want to happen?  What's the endgame for Cumulo?  Does he live?  Die?  Spirit go all haunty and leave?))

Satisfied, Vespyr threw Cumulo to the ground, swinging the blade sharply to clean it.  He walked slowly past Brother Sparrow, and didn't meet his eyes.  Tentatively, he put a hand on the man's shoulder, but withdrew it quickly when he saw the blood rub off on Sparrow's clothing.  "I... apologize.  For the inconvenience," he said, then quickly strode past his friend.

  7. 3 minutes ago, Channelknight Fadran said:

Through the pain he was already feeling, the blade was barely noticeable; but Cumulo was well aware of how much danger it posed.

Vespyr twisted the blade, leaving it there to ensure Cumulo wouldn't be able to heal from it.  He hadn't seen those he'd known from childhood in a long, long time; he couldn't be aware of their capabilities.  With one hand, he held the hilt of the weapon, and with the other, he slammed his fist right under Cumulo's chin.

This man had threatened the children.  It was time to remove him from the equation.

  8. 24 minutes ago, Channelknight Fadran said:

Cumulo started crying out in pain.

Vespyr took the advantage he saw, burning into the lightning bolt.  In a sudden flash of speed, faster than an eyeblink, he was there, thrusting the sword at Cumulo's middle.

  9. 12 minutes ago, Fallapede said:

Brother Sparrow whispered to Vespyr, "Strike me. As painfully and as powerfully as you can. I shall end this shortly after."

Vespyr nodded, then the air around Brother Sparrow solidified, a roar of invisible fists simultaneously striking him over the entire surface area of his body.

It does suck that people play at different paces, but it is hard to slow and wait when absenses are unannounced and can span a week or longer.  In my post, Corwin asked everyone around him to follow him to watch the dreadknight fight.  Janice took Cruz’s knife and stabbed herself so she could explode, except the knife was poisoned and she fainted and Trace is in control.  Corwin gave Cadenza blood, and she used it to create a layer of zero-friction ice to freeze the area behind the dreadknight.  Dreadknight just stepped on it and slipped up.  Everyone has an attack of opportunity.))

  11. At this point, Vespyr managed to get Cumulo onto the 0-friction terrain by forcing him backward.

((I'm assuming this will give people an opening, but Cumulo can dodge it or evade if you like.))

  12. 1 minute ago, Knight of Iron said:

“We could lure him into close quarters, or a trap,” he suggested.

"He's fast, and we're slow.  He could outrun us if he were chasing us.  And in close quarters, we'll either have more of a chance at hitting him, or he'll just kill us all exceptionally quickly."  Corwin quickly said, forgetting his promise to shut up.

  13. 1 minute ago, Knight of Iron said:

"Clearly, you don't know what you're talking about," Cruz answered. "And, frankly, if you keep bothering me, I'm about to cave your head in."

Corwin jammed his hands into his pockets, a sour look over his face.  "Just the person who slits throats, my rear end."  He glowered.  "I'll shut up.  What's your bright idea?"

  14. 8 minutes ago, Knight of Iron said:

Cruz threw up his hands. "I'm just the guy who pounces from the shadows to slit the dude's throat once he thinks he's gotten away! Trace, in Janice's body, did the actual mass-murdering. I've got a freakin' healing Aspect. How the heck are you supposed to mass murder with that!?"

"By healing someone's skull so it thickens too much and constricts the brain or something?  I mean, if you have control over how bodies grow and knit together, I'd assume you've done some pretty messed up stuff!"

  15. 3 minutes ago, Knight of Iron said:

Cruz rolled his eyes. "I meant that, unlike Janice, Trace actually mass murders stuff, which is a bit more relevant to the situation at hand!"

"Don't you actually mass murder people too??"  Corwin asked, face getting red.  He was just so confused about how any and all of this worked.

  16. 4 minutes ago, Knight of Iron said:

"It's weird, but if anything's weird about it, she's thousands of years older than me," he pointed out, then switched back to the plan. "Is there even anything Cumulo has we can blow up? I feel like he kind of came here to blow things up. Wouldn't want to inadvertently help him."

"Then flirt with her when she's not in an 11 year old's skin," he said, jutting his chin out indignantly.  Seriously!  "Does Janice remember these interactions?  Is she actually okay with this?"  He snorted.  "And don't look at me.  I'm like thirteen or fourteen or something.  You're adults, aren't you supposed to be chock full of responsibility?"

  17. 10 minutes ago, Channelknight Fadran said:

Trace winked at him, then looked back at Corwin. "Kay, kiddo. You seem to know what you're doing. What are you doing?"

“What, you’re an adult in a child’s body?  Don’t you think that’s a messed up thing to do to a kid?”  He also looked at Cruz critically, from him to Janice. She must have been a year or two younger than him. And this demon was flirting while in her body?  Was Janice okay?  How old was Cruz, anyways?

“Just-“ he finally said, clearly split among all his thoughts, “We need to just blow up something to distract only that guy. Then Vespyr can stab him.  But we don’t want to accidentally put Vespyr at a disadvantage…. Can you destroy something of Cumulo’s?”

  18. 14 minutes ago, Knight of Iron said:

"Huh? Janice isn't here right now, that's Trace."

“Who the heck is-“ he remembered Janice chasing him down and tackling him. How she blamed it on being possessed. “Guess she wasn’t lying about the demon in her pocket.”
