Yeah, it was stirges. They had four leathery wings, size of falcon, if that helps with variety.

We were attacked by a group of nine insect monsters, the DM called them D&D mosquitoes, can't remember the actual name. But almost everyone that attacked had a greatsword and rolled high enough that they took out at least two of them. We ended them before they really got to attack and so we started calling our Greatswords fly swatters.

Freed it. It was slathered in butter, honey, and grease. There had just been two Petra's we had killed before and they had tried to eat the Aarakocra in our party, but they died. So we freed the Aarakocra and got the offer to come to their city and all non fliers would gain the ability to fly.

Now that I actually know what a Aarakocra is and having freed one. 12!/10
