"NO!" She whispered, but it felt like shouting. "I won't leave you, not until the end." Shadow ran down her cheeks like tears.

Wynn went to him. "Try taking my Shadows." She knew how it would turn out, but it was worth a shot. She payed no mind to the disturbances. They would take care of themselves.

Wynn opened her eyes from where she had been zoning out- trying not to think about Lerac. So, it begins...

"We get you more energy, then. Whatever it takes."

Wynn had trouble speaking again, this time for reasons entirely her own. "You aren't going to die. You can't."

The expression dropped off her face. "I..." Her oath hindered her words. "I will not let you die. And if that is beyond my control, I will not leave you."

"What!? Why?" The old stress came back, like it had been all those times before.

"I don't know, but at least they could do something."

"Absolutely not." She forced a stern look. "You clearly aren't okay, or at least you weren't a few minutes ago. If left untreated, this could cripple our efforts at a critical moment."

Wynn glared at him. "Just cooperate, idiot."

"He's not fine, doctor. Can you please check?"

Wynn couldn't speak. She struggled to find words. "We shouldn't take any risks."

"We're not taking any risks." She prepared to support him if he fell. "Let's go. Lead the way, TAAron."

"Does the Clinic have a doctor or someone who can help?"

Wynn's Shadow squirmed anxiously. "What can we do?"

"Try Lerac. Try." A solitary tear dripped down her cheek.

"I'm here." She grabbed his hand. She was strangely calm, because she knew how this was going to end. "Don't worry, I'm here."

Wynn didn't know what to do. "TAAron! You other guy! Help him!" She reached out with Shadows, but healing was not in her abilities. MALUM! She mentally shouted. Show yourself!

Her brow furrowed. "Let me try..." She jolted backwards. "Your Shadow... it rejected me." Astonishment and fear mixed on her face.

Wynn looked concerned. Disease wasn't something she had experience with. "Could it be... Malum?" Death, if this is you, I'm gonna fry your hide.

"What is it?" A few Shadows squirmed from her hair, but she forced them back into place. "Are you okay!?"

Wynn walked up quietly and put her arms around Lerac.
