Ranryu

The pen is a Schon DSGN Pocket Six with a titanium nib from Karas Kustoms, inked with Faber-Castell Garnet Red. A fun little thing about this nib is that it takes on the color of whatever ink you're using, so--while it doesn't come through in the photo very well--the whole thing has a slight reddish cast to it!

Wow. It's... it's been a while. My schedule has been kinda insane lately, so I haven't had much time to be on the Shard. That said, I could have gotten on, but I just... didn't? Idk. Anyway, here's a peek  at my crazy life in a nutshell:

 

- Leaders of the Pack (show choir) premiere is in four weeks, and we're not even close to being ready.

- First competition is in five weeks, also not ready for that.

- I can't even do show choir or dance because I sprained my ankle twelve weeks ago during choreography, I was in a boot for two weeks, and now it's getting worse, and I think it might be a stress fracture.

- Speaking of, my sister has a stress fracture in her leg, right below her knee.

- My sister's birthday is in three days.

- Wolfgang (a cappella) is performing three different Christmas songs in like two weeks, we're not ready for that either.

- On that note, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY! 

- Thanksgiving was fun but kind of insane. Long story.

- I have too much homework.

- I'm totally stressed out for no reason and it's making me feel stuck and kind of trapped.

- I feel guilty because one of my young women's leaders at church who's super, super nice and kind and the best keeps asking me to babysit for her kids, but the last time I babysat was my first time babysitting ever, and she has five kids who are great but they're kids so ya know, and the oldest hit one of the other kids and I feel like I handled it really badly, and the oldest is like two years younger than I am so it's kind of awkward, so I feel really guilty for saying no all the time even though my schedule doesn't allow it but I'm also just feeling super overwhelmed about it. *phew.* That is one long run-on sentence with bad grammar.

- Speaking of being overwhelmed, I'm trying to write a novel, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and I'm so caught up on getting my main character's backstory perfect so I can move onto the plot that I feel like I'm getting nowhere. It's stressing. Me. Out.

- I think I need a getaway... I wish I could pause time to get everything done and then just RELAX. I could really use that right now.

- Grammarly is also stressing me out.

- Also boy drama. Yeah.

- Roleplaying is fun, but it's also stressful because it reminds me of how I need to get cracking on my book and things.

- OH ALSO I'M SO FRUSTRATED AT THIS GIRL AT MY SCHOOL BECAUSE SHE'S THE PRINCIPAL'S DAUGHTER RIGHT, AND WE HAVE TO HAVE REALLY TIGHT CURLS FOR SHOW CHOIR AND SHE WAS LIKE "I DON'T WANNA WEAR THE CURLERS TO SCHOOL" SO THE PRINCIPAL BANNED THEM AND SO NOW WE'RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO KEEP THE CURLS IN DURING THE DAY AND IT'S A HUGE HASSLE AND AGHHHHHHHHHHH

- Anyway. Thanks for letting me vent. I'm just overwhelmed. And stressed. Maybe I should go meditate.

I think I found a new favorite series. It's called Chronicle of the Dark Star, and it's one of the best sci-fi series I've ever read. The entire thing is masterfully written, and the author managed to incorporate the complexities of time travel without being too confusing. This is the first time a book ending has made me cry in like, five years.

I can't fully describe how great the trilogy is! 10/10. If you haven't read it, you're missing out.

Today was stake conference.

I'm not gonna say it was a disaster, but my seven year old brother was climbing on the stacked chairs in the gym, my five year old brother had to wait in the car, and my three year old brother was running around the halls barefoot. And my sisters were comparing finger flexibility. 

As I said, it wasn't quite a disaster, but, as my mother said, it was "completely unacceptable". My family's antics are the highlight of every church meeting, I think.

Okay, hi all! And happy Thanksgiving week! May there be pies with dragons on top upon all your tables. They’ll appreciate the tribute, I assure you.

That said, I figured now was a good time to catalogue some of my most recent slight weirdness. 

Kicking off… 

1) I petted a tiny table in Spanish class Thursday.

2) I drew a rat pancake on the blackboard in Spanish on Thursday.

3) I rejoiced over the dramaticness of a scene my friend and I roleplayed.

4) I recruited another friend to help me make a credible legend about my school (the fact that I need to bring in an outside source should serve as a testament to exactly how many crazy things I say there).

5) I decided to give my school friend a sword.

Just a little one.  

6), my crowning glory and the only thing in here really worth a status update:

How much is that dragon in the window?

The one with the firey breath?

How much is that dragon in the window?

I need him to burn you to deeeeaaaaath!

As a side note. I also received 21 tiny metal swords in the mail on Thursday that are GORGEOUS, and today my tiny stone jade-looking dragon arrived in the mail, which I christened Egypt. She is smol but she is wonderful. This needs a pic.

Now I have eight dragons!
