  1. "The real question here is, why on earth are there so many snakes. Like, that's an obscene amount of snakes."
  2. Aki gives him a nod. These kids needed someone to look after them, and he wasn't doing anything else with his life so . . .
  3. "We've all been through stuff and that's alright, no need to turn it into a competition. We can learn from each other and grow."
  4. He just shook his head. "It's a good thing your not where you were, then, I suppose." "And I, a lord's son. That doesn't automatically make it better."
  5. He gives him a 'that wasn't necessary' sort of look. "You guys didn't really have . . . childhoods did you? And I thought I grew up in a rough spot."
  6. "Damn . . . I'm surrounded by children . . ." Aki mumbled, having not known Sleeper's age before.
  7. I get that. Plus, it's hard to watch sub and multi-task on other stuff at the same time (except for maybe eating).
  8. I started out watching sub because of what I had access to, and I've always had a hard time with dub afterword. Maybe it's just a bias, but I swear the Japanese voice-acting is better and has more emotion in it, whereas the English voices feel out of place and sometimes don't fit the characters. That, and I like experiencing the 'art' closer to it's 'original' form. Like, maybe I don't speak Japanese but I can still feel the original emotion and line delivery that might get muddled in a dub. But then, there are also dubs that are completely fine and I enjoy, so who knows.
  9. "I . . . I'm not surprised," Aki rolled his eyes as he stabbed another snake. "How many of these things are there?"
  10. Aki nodded in argeement. "What does . . . what are you going to do with that?"
  11. "Let's hope so. He's too smart to die this soon," Aki grunted.
  12. Niiice. I've heard a lot of good things, and what I've seen is really promising. I do have to watch it in dub, but I don't mind the voice acting the way I often do with dub.
  13. "I hope we don't teleport away without him." Aki added, dispatching a few more snakes.
  14. "Thank you," Sharp said, genuinely. When he'd come to the games he'd thought he was giving in. Doing what his father wanted in an attempt to fix things. He'd given up on escape. But now? Maybe he really could be free from this all.
  15. wrap up of what I've read recently? Cruel Magic: A Victorian Faerie Tale, by E. B. Wheeler 2/5 - I actually bought this from a local author at an arts fair last summer. You can tell it's maybe a little less professional, it felt very first-drafty and has several issues with the pacing and prose. I didn't hate it, though and the characters were very charming. There was a Van Helsing style character who I'm 90% was implied to be LDS which was really cool for me, I loved him. The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins 5/5 - Yes. I'd technically already written HG fanfiction before reading or seeing the movies, I'm obsessed. Spin the dawn, by Elizabeth Lim 3/5 - the epitome of something that has a cool premise but explores it in the shallowest, most straight forward way. The ML was hot but he had no reason to fall in love with the FL. Also, some technical writing mistakes that bothered me. I'll probably finish the duology anyway because I'm curious and have no self-respect. Shadow and Bone, by Leigh Bardugo 2.5/5 - I'm begging Leigh Bardugo to give her characters personalities (especially The Darkling, my man had so much little cryptid guy potential). The Cruel Prince, by Holly Black 3/5 - It ignited a deep and indescribable rage inside me. I wanted to throw this book against the wall, and then burn it, and punch the MC in the face. It was fine, though.
  16. I watched the first episode of Mob Psycho 100 yesterday and it was fantastic . . . it'll probably be my next binge. Has anyone here seen it?
  17. "Really?" Relief washed over him--he didn't want to go alone. "I-I guess we will come with you? If that's alright." He told Tinker. What would he do with this new life? He didn't feel scared anymore, just curious, and a little excited.

    4. Part Of The Narrative
  19. "Yes, you could just be saying it because it's polite . . ." He trailed off, realizing just how ridiculous he sounded. Tinker had offered. It would be fine? It would be fine. "You'd come too Dougella?" @Scars of Hathsin
  20. "I couldn't just . . . " Sharp looked tempted. "I would hate to be an intruder."
  21. On the Shard right out of the womb? I respect that grind.

      Just a Silvereye

The best part is, entering 2024 as my birth year was originally a joke I had put in months ago.

It turns out that I am indeed going through quite a bit of transformations right now. But I had no idea this would happen now when I entered that birth date. (Lots of things happened, very few of them I had seen coming.)
