She pulled away from his embrace slightly, cupping his cheek in her hand. "Daniel? What's wrong? You... you don't seem like yourself anymore." She looked in his eyes worriedly

"I'm luckier." She brushed her thumb across his cheek.

Me: Will any one be sad if this character dies? My friend: The other characters, but who cares about their feelings!

She kissed him back.

"Exactly." She whispered, brushing a piece of hair off his forehead.

She simply hugged him tightly. "I love you. Not someone else, you."

"I deserve you." Was her only reply.

"I can't imagine loving anyone else." She whispered, rubbing his shoulder.

She smiled up at him, laying her good hand on his shoulder.

"I like you a lot." She blushed.

"Good." She smiled at him. "I like right now."

"What about you?" she asked gently, "Are you alright?"

"They both feel a little sore, but otherwise alright."

Jinx crept into the shadows, whimpering slightly.

She smiled back. "Thank you."

"No, I... it needed to happen. I'm glad I could sing it for you."

Rex sighed. "It just... brings it all back." She whispered, leaning against his chest, feeling his heartbeat.

She smiled and wiped her eyes. "Your welcome."

She smiled, "Sure.." She sat up and took a sip of water. Closing her eyes, she sang softly: "Summer in the hills, those hazy days I do remember, we were running still, Had the whole world at out feet, Watching seasons change, our days were lined with adventure, mountains in our way, couldn't keep us from the sea, Here we stand, open arms, this is home, where we are, ever strong, in the world that we made, I still hear you in the breeze, see your shadow in the trees, holding on, memories never fade, Holding on, memories never fade...." She finished, tears on her cheeks.

"Oh, that? My mother used to sing that to me! i can only hear her voice sing it, in my memories. It has words to." Rex smiled at the bittersweet memory.

His touch sent little shivers down her spine and she relaxed.
