The nurse turned to Daniel. "Will you stay with her please?" She asked. @Lightweaver2

"You can sit on the floor, if you want..." Iris offers with a smile. "You should do art more!"

"Oh! I bet that's awful!" Iris frowns at a leaf on her hand. "I smudged it. Darn."

"I don't know, I've never seen a monster."

Rex brought her knees to her chest, and closed her eyes, content to wait for the nurse.

"How do you know it'll eat you?" Iris asked quietly.

"Oh, I'm sorry..." Iris frowned slightly. "I thought it was your monster."

Her smile faltered, and she turned back toward the wall.

She glanced at him, offering a weak smile. "I love you."

She sighed. "Alright."

"Alright." She moved off his lap and laid down facing the wall.

She shook her head slowly. "I'm fine..." She whispered.

She shrugged and let it fall back into her lap.

She held it out, palm up. There was blood on the bandages.

She stayed silent for several minutes. "My hand." She said, voice barely audible.

"Sorry." She whispered, laying her forehead against his chest.

"Hmm? Oh, nothing." She didn't look at him.

She smiled back, working hard to keep the pain from showing in her eyes. "I love you." She looked down before he could notice her eyes watering.
