Rex braced herself, and opened their connection again. See? She showed him everything that she had shown him before, carefully avoiding the dark box to the side of her mind, and staying in the pleasant areas. See how much I love you?

"Daniel... I love you, isn't that enough? Please, you're not lying to yourself. Remember, all those things I showed you? Do you need to see them again?"

"What did I just say about talking about yourself like that?" she asked, tapping his nose gently.

Rex sighed "We are quite the pair, aren't we..."

"I... don't know... sorry.."

"I know... and it's okay to not be okay."

"Wonderful?" Instead of answering, she pressed her lips against his, looking at him softly.

"You could be dead." She pointed out. "That would be worse..." She thought for a moment "You aren't helping your view of yourself by talking down to yourself... I love you, and you are wonderful..." She looked in his eyes. "You are wonderful." She repeated.

"No, we are going to get better, not be better."

She kissed his head. "I know... me too."

"I know..." She whispered, holding him tighter, "I know..."

"I do..." She stroked her hand through his hair, trying to be comforting. "But that doesn't change how much I love you."

"Mmm... and what's that?"

"Then you have never met yourself." She whispered, stroking his forehead again.

Rex laughed and laid her head on his chest, fingers curled into his hair again.

She kissed him again.

"I love you..."

She smiled weakly. "If you say so..."

Rex nodded, brushing her thumb over his cheek. "I suppose..."

"I'm sorry... I ruined everything... you'll never fall asleep now." She whispered, melting into his embrace.

"Morgan..." She winced as she said his name, it tasted vile in her mouth. "He said that I would be left, hurt and abandoned... that I would never find love... that... that..." She couldn't continue, her voice was to clogged with emotion.

"I just... he said... he said that..." She stopped, looking down, hair obscuring her face.
