Just-A-Stick

"I- lo- you to." She said, body shaking and voice muffled. Please don't let me go... She thought at him, not even caring if he could sense what she was thinking.

Lily yawns, rubbing her eyes. "What is happening?" She asks in her soft voice.

She wrapped her arms around his back and hid her face in his chest, crying softly.

Lily sneezes softly and wipes at her nose. "Thank you." She whispers back.

Lily shivered slightly, a sneeze building in her nose.

"Really?" She looked at him, eyes shining with unshead tears. @Lightweaver2

Lily didn't move.

She leaned into his embrace. "I don't think I'm very worthy of that love. I want to be..."

"I just... I don't know what to say? People never need me. I'm not necessary." A tear fell from her eye and she wiped it away quickly, almost angrily. "I just... I'm sure you can do better than me."

"I just..." She glanced down. "Never mind. I'm fine."

She pulled away from him slightly. "You don't mean that." She whispered.

"I... I'm not sure. What could you do?" She asked hesitantly.

"I don't know." She said truthfully.

Lily is silent, if rather frightened.

She smiled at him. "That's good."

Rex walked with him in silence for a time. "Are you alright?" She finally asks

"Thank you. I know it's hard, but we'll get there." She squeezed his hand and kissed his cheek.

Lily nods and puts her head under the blanket again.

"It. Was. My. Choice."

"But it was my choice to grab the knife. That means I have to take responsibility for my actions."

"What's happening?" A small voice comes from nearby. Lily's bright eyes peep over the edge of her thin blanket. @SmilingPanda19

"What makes it true? Tell me."

"That was wonderful. Thank you." Iris said kindly, "Now, do you feel any calmer?" The message gets recorded for later. @Ravenclawjedi42

Rex sighed. "You really have to stop blaming yourself. That's not healthy."
