"I..." Rex sniffed. she took a deep breath and threw the rock away, hugging her knees to her chest, crying softly.

Rex laughed bitterly. "You think you can stop me?" She turned her arm slightly, exposing many short scars on the insides of her forearms.

Ash spat on the offered hand contemptuously. "I don't know what your talkin' about." Ash rolled her eyes. "Storming man." She added under her breath. "If you'll excuse me..." She tried to shove her way off the chair and past him. @Part Of The Narrative

Rex shivered, a sudden chill creeping over her. "I still believe you are. Nothing you do can change that." Rex reached up and wiped at the dried blood on her forehead. Then, she grasped the rock in her hand again, folded her hands in her lap, and starred at them silently.

"I trust you. I trust you because you... are worthy of trust. Of love. Of help. You do deserve these things. Everyone does." Rex sniffed again, tears slowing for the moment. She looked at her hands holding his, not meeting his eyes.

"I... What? No? What happened? Who are you? How do you know my name?" Ash glared at the man who dared try and control her.

She looked at him, tears pooling in her eyes again. "I have already been hurt. I don't think there is much else you can do to me that would hurt me more. I... I trust you, Daniel. Please. trust me too." Rex sniffed but didn't wipe at the tears falling from her eyes.

"Why not?" Rex asked, not letting go of his hands.

"Don't want....?" Rex left her question hand in the air.

"It's OK. I know things are hard. Hell! Things are hard for me too! But, we're in this together. I promise." She was surprised at the sudden confidence in her voice as she grabbed his hand in her own and wiped away the rest of his tears.

Rex gave a shuddering sigh. "What happens now?" She asked, trying to steady her voice. It didn't work, her voice wobbled and she cringed at how weak it sounded.

Rex sniffed again, drying her eyes on her sleeve. "Thank you." She whispered.

"I don't know..." She sniffed, her sobbing quieting for the moment. Rex leaned her shoulder against him.

I LIKE EGG!

"Shouldn't we all?" Rex sniffed squeezing her knees against her chest and resting her head against them.

EGG!

Rex reached out and wiped away his tears, sniffing as she did so. Then, she wrapped her arms around herself, trying to comfort her hurting heart.

Rex looked at him with tears running down her cheeks. "I- I'm sorry." She hiccuped, trying to stop crying. she failed.
