  1. "Who is trying to kill you?" She watched his hands intently
  2. "Who's they?" Rex asked, cradling the mans head in her lap and brushing the hair off his forehead.
  3. "What proof would you have of that?" Rex successfully stopped the bleeding.
  4. "But your not!" Not yet anyway. Rex added silently.
  5. "No. You are a person.." She tried to be comforting with her words as she jerked out a bandage and pressed it aginst the wound firmly.
  6. "That was a demon?" Rex asked worriedly, pressing her hand to the wound.
  7.       Ring Out, Wild bells

    Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
        The flying cloud, the frosty light:
        The year is dying in the night;
    Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

    Ring out the old, ring in the new,
        Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
        The year is going, let him go;
    Ring out the false, ring in the true.

    Ring out the grief that saps the mind
        For those that here we see no more;
        Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
    Ring in redress to all mankind.

    Ring out a slowly dying cause,
        And ancient forms of party strife;
        Ring in the nobler modes of life,
    With sweeter manners, purer laws.

    Ring out the want, the care, the sin,
        The faithless coldness of the times;
        Ring out, ring out my mournful rhymes
    But ring the fuller minstrel in.

    Ring out false pride in place and blood,
        The civic slander and the spite;
        Ring in the love of truth and right,
    Ring in the common love of good.

    Ring out old shapes of foul disease;
        Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;
        Ring out the thousand wars of old,
    Ring in the thousand years of peace.

    Ring in the valiant man and free,
        The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
        Ring out the darkness of the land,
    Ring in the Christ that is to be.

    ~ Alfred Tennyson

    1. Slowswift

      Slowswift

      I've always loved this hymn, but never realized there was more to it. Having read that, I can now safely say it's one of my favorite poems. Thanks for sharing!

  8. "Storming Damnation!" Rex swore, trying to staunch the bleeding.
  9. Rex swore, crouching swiftly and trying to catch him.
  10. Rex blinked in surprise. Shrugging, she continued on her way to the University.
  11. You're welcome I'll take a blanket and I brought along my pet squirrel, his name is Gucci
  12. "Hello?" Rex called to it, placing an obvious hand on the handle of her knife sticking out of her belt.
  13. hello! I like reading other human's writty things
  14. Rex watched the figure carfully.
