"It's fine." She said quickly. "Doesn't hurt."

She nodded, letting him hold her as she put the ointment away. "I'm glad it's not too bad." She whispered.

"No." She stiffened, and shut her eyes.

She took a deep breath, leaning her forehead against his shoulder and shutting her eyes tightly. "I'm still sorry." You aren't strong enough...

"I-I'm n-not import-tant." She said, slouching and resting her forehead against the table edge.

"Yeah, but I'm hurting you..." She whispered, voice quavering slightly. You always hurt those you love. It's better not to love anyone... She tried to quiet the voice.

"I... I'm nobody. S-sorry." She muttered, staring at the table, which was only slightly below eye level when she was sitting. (she's REALLY short! OKAY?)

Rex dug in her satchel and applied some ointment to the wound. "Sorry..." She said, as she saw him wince.

"Mmhmm..." She looked closer at it, probing it with her finger gently. "Can I put something on it for you?" She whispered, a look of concentration crossing her face.

She noticed him flinch slightly. "It still hurts?" She whispered, sitting up.
