  1. Elsa looks around for Fox, then snaps her focus back on the groundhog. She stares at it, trying to intimidate it.
  2. Kays sighed, rubbing her forehead. "Roy. This is most inconvenient." Rezyn eyed her father. "Well? What do you think?"
  3. Eyes closed, Kasa concentrated, knife in hand. She thought, if she tried hard enough, she might be able to...she'd done it once before... There's moisture in the air, you know. You've already gotten quite good at summoning and coalescing it...but you can feel it, too... Her mother's voice. She squeezed her eyes even tighter shut as the temptation to open them grew stronger. "Guys?" she hissed into the air.
  4. "But you don't live," she said, clicking her tongue. She crossed her arms. "Who are your parents?"
  5. Kays shook her head, musing. "We have assassins too, demon. We have people on the inside, people with which to fight, people who support us financially and politically. What need do we have for you?"
  6. Kays raised an eyebrow. "Something of a mercenary, then? What would keep you from selling us out to the highest bidder?" Rezyn scoffed. "He tried to kill Kerst. He didn't seem very persistent though."
  7. Kays considers. Kerst steps back, leaving her to her thoughts. She tilts her head. "What was the purpose of crashing that meeting? Yes, I know about it. Hopefully I'm the only one." She sniffed disdainfully. "Caused quite a racket. But why?"
  8. The stairs open up to a long hallway with only one door at the very end. It's painted black, with a silver handle. Kerst knocks carefully and steps back as the door swings open. The room inside is austere, but covered with bookshelves, maps, and papers neatly sitting on desks. In the middle of the room, a tall women is standing, holding a single coin up to the light. She doesn't look at them as they enter. "Fake," she says with contempt. "Pitiful soul..." She sets the coin down, turning to Sleeper and Kerst. "Brother." She acknowledges him, then eyes Sleeper. "Hello, demon. Why are you in my keep?"
  9. Kerst shook his head. "I need no more proof." He tilted his head, as if listening, though there was only silence. "Kays has arrived. Come." He strode toward a stairwell, climbing it and beckoning for Sleeper to follow.
  10. Kerst squinted at him. "That's quite impossible, I'm afraid."
  11. Kasa bit her lip, looking around jumpily. "Yeah, I agree."
  12. Elsa stabs at it, gasping at the sound of the screech. How stupid. Death by groundhog. Not happening.
  13. Kerst knitted his brows. "What are you? Man?" Rezyn rubbed her forehead. "Focus!"
  14. Kerst raised an eyebrow. "Depends. I still want to know a bit more about you."
  15. Kasa nodded. That was cool. Big three kid. "Nice. You know how it is, then."
  16. Kasa kicked at the ground as she walked. "Oh, you know... it's ...great..." She squinted at Jenny. "Who's your godly parent?"
  17. Kasa shrugged, trying not to be flattered. "You don't look too bad. Good eyes. Nice hair. Just don't be so careful about it all, let your hair get loose sometimes, you know. Don't tuck in your shirt so neatly. You've got a good base."
  18. Kasa looked her up and down. "Why would you ask me that? Aphrodite would be your best bet."
  19. Kerst walked out from behind Sleeper, tapping him on the shoulder. "Yes?"
  20. Elsa stumbles back, whipping out her knife. "Fox!" She slashes at the groundhog
  21. Kasa stared defiantly at Jenny. "What?" She said after a bit.
  22. "I don't know." Elsa keeps moving. That was all she could do.
