  1. Well folks, it's long past time to close this game up. Many thanks to Steeldancer for running the game and Droughtbringer for helping keep Steel from going insane. Congrats to Team Two, especially Sart, for their win. If only I had seen your message earlier. /sigh Everyone did very well with the body/account swapping going on. I hope to see either this game run again of one very similar in the future. Though perhaps not give phones out to the killers. If anyone would like to try their hand at running a game, please get a hold of Wilson, Orlok, Fifth or myself. Not only will we get you added to the list, but we'd also be more than willing to help out in any way we can.For those wanting to play, Long Game 56: Discord in Elendel is still accepting signups for the next little while. Sign up while you can. You can also ask questions and get some hints and feedback from everyone over here in our Art of Game Creation thread as well. With all the games that we've run so far, we have plenty of experienced GMs that can help you refine any game you're thinking about! If you would rather keep some detail secret or are self conscious about posting in thread (there's really no need to be, while we do slaughter each other, we are very polite about it), then I'm sure one of our fantastic committee members (Elbereth, Amanuensis, Aonar Faileas, A Joe in the Bush, and Stink) would be more than willing to help you out in private. Thanks again to everyone that played and we look forward to killing seeing you in future games!
  2. They shall turn on each other soon in mutual destruction. Join me in waiting out the carnage in the safety of the forest.
  3. THEY HAVE TEETH NOW! FLEE WITH ME WHILE YOU CAN!
  4. *flees while Luna launches futile counterattack*
  5. THEY'RE DUPLICATING! RUN FOR THE HILLS!!
  6. How do you know you want to win more than me?
  7. Well folks, it's time to close up yet another wonderful game. Many thanks to Kidpen for GMing. The mechanic of having the eliminators hand out the medallions was very interesting and I would love to see something like that happen in another game. While this game did have some minor balance issues, I feel it was a very successful run for a new GM. I look forward to seeing what you will run next Kidpen. Congratulations to the Southern Scadrians, (Drought, Itiah, Road, Steel and Snip) you all did a wonderful job of misleading the Notherners. A hearty cheer to both Devotary and Maill for almost rallying the village back into the fight that was plagued with inactivity. 8. None of the GMs are putting the quick links into the OP. Fifth and I do that when we merge the threads as we are able to edit posts in locked threads. One of the reasons we have separate threads for each cycle is so that it appears in the recent topics on the main page. This allows others who don't know about us the chance to see and easily find us if interested. We would lose a lot of advertising if we just went to one thread for the whole game. If a game lasts five full cycles then we would go from 12 topics down to one. This also has the added benefit of possibly reminding those playing that a game has started or changed cycles. As Steel pointed out, tradition. It began in LG2 and has just continued. There wasn't any vote or much discussion on it, it simply happened. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But what I consider more important is that it allows someone to start at rollover. Let's say you were unable to log in for a day or two, that could be a lot of posts you would have to scroll through to find the start of a Turn. Yes, we could add Quicklinks to the start of every cycle and some games have those but if you are halfway through a cycle then even those will not help you get to the start of the latest cycle. You could go to the OP and then to the quicklinked start but again, that's an extra amount of time when currently you can jump right to the beginning of the current cycle. (I know this pain firsthand as there have been times when the one merging didn't quicklink and I had to scroll through post after post, page after page to find the write up.) There was also the habit of players putting quicklinks into a post and using that as their 'post of the day' to avoid suspicion/inactivity filter. This was partly why we started quicklinking in the first place. That and it made it so much easier to find things when reviewing. If we were to ask the GMs to do that every cycle, it could add extra time to rollover and discourage new GMs from signing up. But that's just my opinion.
  9. You should have the ability to add someone into the GM PM. Anyone can add another so long as they are in that PM. There's a little button after all the names that does it.
  10. To be fair, it did have content but was edited out, likely due to it being a double post.
  11. What can I say? I need to get my fix of Steel before you're gone for two years.
  12. Massive understatement right there. I've been here for years and it will take me years more before I reach that many posts.
  13. Wait! Deadpool voices Pikachu? Ok, now I have to watch this.
  14. How am I meant to run in a straight line while also completing a lap?
  15. Thank you for the lovely image. I'm not going to be able to get that out of my head for the rest of the day now.
  16. The Alvicon? It's one of several that @Burnt Spaghetti created for me. I have them in a Doc for me to grab whenever needed.
  17. Flute I would imagine. Or his hand throwing powder into the fire.
  18. Hoid telling the tale of Wandersail is the first.
  19. Still working on that part. My upcoming Zombie game allows unlimited actions. If you can think it, you can do it. Will depend on how that goes as to how many actions I'll allow in the chaos game. Good luck with that. That particular incarnation might not even make it into the game. It might be the 4, 5 or 7 letter Practitioner.
  20. Please do not advocate the upvoting of either yourself or another just for kicks/fun. One should only upvote if one feels that particular post deserves it.
  21. It's not about balance. It's about having fun. Win, lose, balanced or chaos, it doesn't matter. What matters is if people have fun. A small sampling of the roles: Voodoo Practitioner: Each Night you can choose one player and one six letter word. If your target says that word during the following Day, they will die. (Player/RP names cannot be selected.) Good Neighbour: Each Night you can choose the protect either the person above or below you on the player list. Alarmist: Once per game you can choose to roleblock every player for that Night cycle. Torturer: Each Night you can torture someone to learn their role. They will be informed that they were tortured. Karma: Each Night you can target a Player. Any action the target takes is also applied to them. Sleepwalker: (Passive/Hidden) Each Night you randomly visit another player but no actions are taken. Dependent: (Passive) You are reliant on the {Redacted} role. Should all players with this name in their role die, you will lose all your roles. As you can see by the last two, the player might not even know they have a role and they aren't all beneficial. There are some negative roles/traits.
