Popular Post Turos he/him
While reading the Stormlight Archive books, I realized that spren are 'real life' emoticons. So naturally I made some emoticons involving spren. To use an emote, copy the link next to it in the parentheses and paste it into your post. You can also right-click the link and choose "Copy Link Location", then paste it in your message. 17thshard.com forums allow you to load pictures into your posts by pasting the URL of the image into the post's content. It may be helpful to save a .txt file in notepad with all of the links you prefer to use in order to copy and paste elsewhere. Also, more cosmere-themed emoticons are under construction. Ookla the Absent
Didn't really work, but I get the idea. edit: I was trying for a grey background. It worked in the post box thing, but didn't show up. Edited June 28, 2015 by Gargoyle
Turos he/him
I could make versions in dark backgrounds if people want, but it might look odd against the rest of the page. Haelbarde he/him
Curious, how did you go about making them? Do you do anything fancier than doing it pixel by pixel, or a whole lot of duplicating layers and shifting things slightly?
Turos he/him
Pixel by pixel for all but the actual sharblade. That one I drew out a basic shape, cut sections off and lightened them progressively until it got the wavy blade, then ran several versions of the GIMP's Mozaic filter to materialize it, then shifted it on layers to drop. Same for the hand, shifting it over. Nothing fancy unfortunately. Just tedious, though I'm sure there's a way to do things faster.
Haelbarde he/him
GIMP FTW. Can appreciate how tedious they are - did mine the same way, except no filters. Just didn't want to be missing out on some super efficient way of there was one.

Turos he/him
I use the GIMP for my tiny animations and export them as an animated .gif The large ones I use Inkscape, port to GIMP, then port to Spriter Pro. I'm not familiar with Apple at all. Sorry :/ Good luck to you, though. Yep! Unless they are integrated into the website, just use that trick.
