I wasn't saying that casting suspicion on players is bad, but rather the choices of players you've gone after. I understand that just because we don't see eye-to-eye on things doesn't mean you are a Traitor, but in your own words, it's a potential tell.

luckat - dead confirmed Loyal

Lopen - I know I'm Loyal

Anamax - you know

BB - I feel like I could probably pick him out if he was a Traitor and his posts and my PM with him make me think he's Loyal, as I stated.

Edit: I've got to go for now, but I should be back in a couple hours.

Luckat - wasn't a dead confirmed loyal when I "cast suspicion" (asked questions) which when responded to was reconsidered and retracted.

Lopen - I don't know that

Anamax - all I know is he was defended by Rae, claimed a role to you and after two cycles of you asking him to prove it still hasn't delivered

BB - well, I don't have a PM with him so all I can go off is his posts and how others interacted with him. Also, given that him and Hellscythe were Elbereth's top suspicions when she died (I'm relatively certain she didn't just tell you and I this, given how active she was in PMs) one of them being a Traitor could be a possible reason she was targeted and of the two BB is a more worthwhile option because either way we will be able to look at who has defended him and who pushed for his death.

Also, BB, I'm about to commute but when I get to where I'm going I'll edit in a response to your post.

Night 5: A Lack of Conviction

They found Lucy's corpse hanging from the ceiling when they arrived later that day. Of course, accusations were made at the first person to arrive on the scene, for surely they must have killed him – Except that no-one was willing to accuse Feis Yolen's assistant of such a thing to her face. There must be at least a little more to her, if someone who gave the impression of being a mere businesswoman was willing to get mixed up in these.

The room was muted in its own way, a quiet and private chatter that managed to provide enough ambient noise to blank out other conversations from further away. There were people drinking quietly, and others drinking more raucously, but even those most inebriated amongst them was not reckless with their merriment.

“We're dying here,” Dragonsight muttered. “Even if we're getting closer to our goals, we're all dying.”

“But if we're getting close, then the danger'll soon pass,” Ripple pointed out. “At that point, we can get paid, move on, and live again.”

Dragonsight shook his head. “No, it's different. Can't you see it? This place should be loud. There're a dozen Mistrunners here. Used to be that whenever we met up like this, whenever we're not fighting each other because of a stupid contract, we should be making it a night to remember. But now...” he shrugged. “We're barely able to speak to each other without suspicion.”

“But that's true usually anyway,” Ripple replied. “Even when Mistrunners aren't knowingly working against each other, we often happen to be anyway. Just being around each other's cause for concern, isn't it?”

“No,” the veteran Mistrunner said. “There used to be honour amongst thieves. A warning would be given. We wouldn't attack each other out of nowhere. And we'd always be respectful about it, hold no grudges, nothing of that sort. But now...” he shook his head. “We're getting motional. We're arguing. And we're paranoid.”

Ripple didn't respond to that. Just a small nod, unable to contradict the older and more experienced man's remarks.

“Maybe it's not like that elsewhere,” Dragonsight continued, “But here, in this room, certainly looks that way to me. Maybe it'll fix itself when this is all over. If it's ever all over. I guess we can only hope to wait and see.”

“...You've got a very pessimistic view on life.”

“Comes with being in this job far long than anyone should have to be.” He sighed and looked over at the crowd. “Wonder who's gonna die today. Will there be a reason for it, or will it just be something spontaneous, done without thinking? I'd place a bet on it, if I thought anyone would pay up. Hm, maybe I could start a side business. Betting on who's next to meet The Survivor in the world beyond.”

“I think they might just assume you're going to cheat,” Ripple commented. “I wouldn't really advise it.”

“Perhaps you're right,” Dragonsight sighed. “Well, anything's more exciting than us sitting around doing nothing like this.”

“I'll drink to that,” Ripple agreed, having a drink. Non-alcoholic, of course, but that didn't mean he couldn't get into the spirit of things. “Maybe the night will bring something more interesting...”

Why would you think that?

The way you state it at the beginning of days right after someone is killed could leave the impression that there are no PMs at all anymore.

Also, I'm loving the write-ups, but you just had the only teetotaler drink to something. :P it's not a big deal, just something I noticed.

I will volunteer for the mission. I have no specialization so I'd be perfect for it.

Also, I love the way you portrayed Dragonsight Wyrm! Thanks!

But Ripple, Share the love a bit here man! I'm a teetotaler too you know!

Another thing, SD you spelled eliminator wrong.

Also, no godmodding other people's chars to drink when they don't want to Wyrm. Just no.

He never said she was drinking alcohol.  :P

About the mission. I think Shallan is really the one real inactive, since phatt and Hellscythe are online sometimes, they just haven't posted in a long time(which is sad really, because they're both pretty good players imo). So if you wanted to go with the "put an inactive on the mission along with 3 others to protect those 3" plan, then Shallan would be the one to pick to insure that no active players die from the mission.

I wouldn't mind going on the mission.

Adavantos, when you get back, to respond to your last post, one of said people rooting for my death is you, so.... yeah. Your point is kinda backfiring there.

It's only backfiring if it turns out you're not a Traitor.

How has my playstyle changed? I thought I'd been pretty standard with this style in the last couple of games. (I was a villager in said last couple of games, for the record.) Also, could you explain the "Rae-BB-Kyn Connection" to those of us who don't get it? (Like me. I haven't talked to those two at all besides in the thread, and I can assure you there is no connection.)

Maybe I'm wrong but you seem to be taking this game more seriously than I'm used to. Then again, I realize now that this is a terrible point because the game that gave me that impression of non-chalance was LG15b when you were evil. Still, you were in QF12 and village there, right? I'll have to go give that a read over to confirm, because honestly I don't remember much else than my tunnel on Orlok and that I figured out Arraenae and Kipper were evil very early.

By the Rae-BB-Kynedath connection, I mean on C1 when you voted for Kynedath due to his RP and Rae voted on you for voting for the RP.

EDIT:

Soo, I combed through QF13 and these are some of the posts I'm referring to when I say you don't seem yourself this game.

Clanky! What are we doing? Oh. Clanky. Because mystery... So far, NEI to really do anything. BTW, JK. Y? IMO, BC, I CAN.

I spent 5 minutes trying to read this. I will have my revenge. Eventually. In the most mysterious way possible.

Now that my mysterious brain is properly woken up, I did think that Anna-who-sa-whatsit's style was very different than normal, and find that very suspicious, so to "get this game started," Anamaximder.

The following are things the spectators get to do. They have no impact on the game.

Kipper was saved from boredom by Honor!

Adavantos received a potted belladonna plant from Cultivation!

Wait. What? Since when was this a thing? Will this show up in other cycles/games? Can I have a potted plant? And I certainly know I want to read through the spec doc once we're done with this game. This looks FUN.

Also, spectators. I know you can see this. I can't see you, but I have faith you exist. Bequeath PK a cookie. I think the poor guy needs one. Oh, and flowers for Anna. I think he needs 'em more than I do.

And to a question voiced last cycle, yes, I know Anamaximder is (probably) male, but I wanted to find a way to shorten the name, like BB or PK, and Anna was the first thing I came up with.

And Anna, if you're seeing this, I apologize for voting on and killing you. I didn't mean it really. So don't haunt my character forever. Thanks.

Oh yeah. Mystique Chameleon. Thanks! Bye!

I'm going to vote for Mailliw. From what I've seen, his ability to stay alive past these things has got to be some kind of conspiracy. Also, I kinda want to see him die now. For posterity. "I was there when Mailliw died!" "Oh wow Grandpa, you're amazing!" "I know! Pass me some of that root beer!" etc. etc. etc.

Well. I have a couple things to mention. A: Huzzah! A potted plant! Thank you spectator gods! I'll make sure NOT to eat it, as I suspected your so called "good will" and looked up hemlock. Poisonous? Really? What if I ATE that. Because who doesn't eat potted plants. And the foul smell was entirely unnecessary. Luckily, I have no sense of smell. So thank you for the potentially life-threatening gift. I appreciate it. No really, I do. B: I'm confused as to what constitutes being inactive. I posted quite a bit last cycle, so were those just missed, or is there more to being active than being involved in the discussion?

Rutabaga.

Granted not all of your posts were light hearted like these, and my point is more or less moot since you had a similar style of posts in a game where you were evil as well, however I still would like to know what's changed.

Another thing, SD you spelled eliminator wrong.

Thanks, I'll fix that

Know what, I'm bored.

Anyone who has claimed to Lopen wanna just drop me a PM? Doesn't even have to be about your role, or anything at all, as long as it is a PM.

Why do you need that?

I think Shallan is really the one real inactive, since phatt and Hellscythe are online sometimes, they just haven't posted in a long time(which is sad really, because they're both pretty good players imo). I wouldn't mind going on the mission.

I feel like the best way to win right now is to get one of the missions to fail. That way we know that a) one person is inactive, or b)that one of them is an eliminator. Right now I don't know who would be the most likely to be an eliminator so, any opinions?

Line up for the mission so far: STINK, Kynedath, Lopen, and Shallan

If you have any objections please voice them, thanks.

Has STINK changed his mind about going on missions? If he hasn't then I am also fine with going for some more missiony stuff.

I'll consider it, but if Stink Doesn't voice any rejections, then I assume he wants to be on the mission. Also, If any one wants out, I am willing to take their place, so just tell me.

I do not want to be on the mission.

Edit: I also feel that at this point, secrecy is only hurting the Village. Though I know you eliminators and some others are gonna say no.
